The FIFA Emergency Committee decided today, 4 October 2010, to suspend the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) with immediate effect on account of government interference.

This decision follows the latest events linked to the NFF, such as the court actions against elected members of the NFF Executive Committee preventing them from exercising their functions and duties, the stepping down of the acting NFF General Secretary on the instructions of the National Sports Commission, the decision of the Minister of Sports to have the Nigerian League start without relegation from the previous season, and the fact that the NFF Executive Committee cannot work properly due to this interference.

The suspension will be maintained until the court actions have ceased and the duly elected NFF Executive Committee is able to work without any interference.

During the period of suspension, the NFF will not be able to be represented in any regional, continental or international competitions, including at club level, and also not in friendly matches. In addition, neither the NFF nor any of its members or officials can benefit from any development programme, course, or training from FIFA or CAF while the federation remains suspended.

Tough luck. That means we will have 12 games to predict instead of 13.

most of the European ones are on Friday. The Israel-Croatia match is on a Saturday because of religious purposes I think

I think clubs complained about the schedule, so its Friday/Tuesday rather than Saturday/Wednesday...I personally hope its only a one time thing, not a big fan of it

But clubs will still complain... makes no difference as players can still get injured. Also the tv revenue and attendance will probably suffer.

Well, I'm very happy to see that Filipe has only put three in as I hate internationals! So boring, much prefer club football.

Yes, it's the eternal moaning of the clubs that forced UEFA to change the dates of international games from Sat/Wed to Fri/Tue. It's actually the moaning of tv companies who virtually own football clubs these days.

I would have liked to have a whole round with internationals but like this it was impossible.

you will be able to on March 25th.... I guess they will change some of the games back to saturday. So its only temporary at least the friday games as some will get moved to saturday....
anyway Id like the friday/saturday international games as it would mean youd be able to watch more games.

This competition has nothing to do with "stronger" or "minor" leagues. It's about predicting the outcome of matches from leagues from all over the world. If you want to predict only the scores of La Liga, EPL and Serie A you can either join those PLs or create them yourself.

I like the current format as well, it's interesting to learn more about some minor competitions...
On a sidenote : Mayby I'm wrong but I don't remember that we had any matches from Scandinavia and if so that's a pity because teams from upthere delivers a lot of players to the EPL

I did include games from Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark in the past and I am planning to do the same this season so your suggestion will be accepted.
