The Andrea Belotti thread

24 games and 22 goals. 1 goal every 95 minutes. This score alone would suggest we are talking about the best Italian centerforward in ages. Torino bought him from Palermo for just 8.4 million euros. One of the worst deals ever for Zamparini who had given 5.5 million euros to Albinoleffe and another 500,000 euros for the loan before. One of the best for Cairo, who has already agreed with the player a 100 million euros release clause which is valid just for the foreign clubs.

He is fantastic, I want to see him repeat it another season to not be another Ciro, but his incredible work ethic and clear predator talent makes me think he can repeat this in higher level too.

Cairo wants to convince Belotti to stay one more season.

Incredibly shocking if it happens. He is dominating to much to stay there another season.

Surpassed Immobile for sure, I don't mean amount of goals but his overall game is so much better. But yeah he might be a Gilardino, clinical consistent scorer but not able to handle pressure of a top club.

Quit comparing Belotti to Immobile and Gilardino lol. Belotti is the real deal.

Been pointing out his potential since Aug 2014 when I checked out a random U21 game to find out who dafuq Sturaro is (we had just signed him). Belotti caught the eye. He has improved steadily since then. This isn't a random, out of the blue good season.

Don't be surprised if someone pays something close to his buyout fee or even the buyout fee itself esp if he leaves in 2018.

You know what? The release clause is indeed high (no matter whether Belotti might be worth every euro of it) and the tie between the player and the environment is strengthening. The club wants to keep him, the player isn't eager to leave and one more season at Torino could be useful. it is not impossible that the player stays at Torino for one more season.

Yeah I saw him in the remembrance ceremony for superga. He is turning into a real leader.

But I think he will stay one more season possibly not only because he likes to, but I don't see the major overseas clubs bidding all that on him. Maybe just Chelsea.

Four games in a row without a goal. Genoa and Lamanna should be the best medicine.

Petrachi, sporting director of Torino: "If Milan want Belotti they have to pay for him. We haven't received offers from Milan up to now"
Petrachi also denied an interest of Mihajlovic in Kucka.

Rumors are that Cairo has refused an offer of 70 million euros coming from Manchester United.

Cairo is miscalculating. Auba and Morata are not getting many offers when their teams ask for 80.

The irony is that Cairo didn't sell Belotti, the team is now without Belotti neverthless and has no proper replacement because Cairo doesn't buy without selling before (and spent the money of Zappacosta for Niang, a player Mihajlovic wanted but is clearly of little use). Well, Belotti will be out for one more month, but I would not underrate a knee injury.

Torino isn't a wealthy club, in the sense that they can't stockpile proven, expensive talent throughout the depth chart. So they kept Belotti and he got hurt, but that is not different than if they sold Belotti, bought Player-Y, and Player-Y got hurt... either way, if Torino's top CF gets hurt there is going to be a huge dropoff.
