Torino have signed Alexander Farnerud, a 29 year old player from BSC Young Boys. Played in 34 matches tallying 6 goals and 4 assists.

I can't say I know much about the player, but based on career path, market value, and statistics, I'm not very optimistic that he can make too much of an impact.

Torino have bought the other half of the contracts for Cerci, Darmian, and Glik. They now own all 3 players outright.

Locking up 3 of the most consistent performers from last year definitely puts the club in a better position moving forward. Though much work still needs to be done to replace Bianchi and Ogbonna (once his imminent sale is completed).

VERY HAPPY about keeping both Cerci and Glik. There was much talk in Italy about Cerci moving on to a bigger club.

I'll be very disappointed to see him leave... that should give you a good indication.

As far as style, he's a more of an offensive fullback. Which is why in Ventura's 4-2-4 he isn't really an ideal fit as he would prefer to play with defensively minded fullbacks.

Thanks pal.

Is he left or right back? Zenit already have Dominico Criscito at left back although he is currently injured.

The report I had read was personal terms had been agreed with the player but not with the clubs. I kind of expected something to have moved on the transfer today but there has been no further developments.

He can play either side.. though naturally right footed.

They have signed Nicola Bellomo and Cesare Bovo. A young, talented attacker and an experienced, reasonably solid defenseman.

Also brought back Brighi from Rome. I'm really encouraged by the moves this offseason.

Still so much needs to be done, but with Torino's current status it's not like they can just walk up and sign highly rated players unless some interest was already there [or the player doesn't have other options ].

Point taken... I'll go with my following comment of "or the player doesn't have any other options."

In fairness, he is being brought in to back up Glik and Rodriguez. Not many quality players are going to come to Torino knowing they will be coming off the bench until (hopefully) they can improve their status.

Which players do you think will perform well, and which will flop out of the young attackers in Turin?

Here's my take:

Immobile -- I think Immobile will have a productively solid season, and be purchased outright by Torino since Juve will have no place for him.

El Kaddouri -- Very highly rated player that I don't know enough about to judge, but I'm interested to see how he fits into Ventura's somewhat odd system.

Bellomo -- I love Bellomo's skillset, a technically gifted AMF who can open a defense with threaded passes. Where does he play in the 4-2-4? He's not a fast wing player ala Cerci, and he doesn't fit as a box-to-box midfielder to play in place of Brighi or Gazzi.

Larrondo -- For me, the least exciting of the new young attacking talent, I see him having a reasonably sound, up and down season. A little less impressive than Immobile, with less potential.

Immobile would be great to get in form.

But Bari got relegated in Ventura´s season two, so the main goal is to stay up.
