We must use our good form and recovered spirits to their best potential this Saturday, because this will be a much tougher match. Empoli currently occupy sixth place, the final playoff spot, with 33 points. If we win we will be level with them on points and ahead of them on tiebreakers. (Though Grosseto, Modena, and Brescia are in between in the table.) If we lose we could drop to 14th or 15th, it is obvious what must be done here.
It is no help that we will have a completely makeshift backline. Rubin and Loria are suspended, Pratali is injured, and Pisano, Colombo, and Diana (could have been a makeshift right back) are all in limbo and will not be part of the squad for the time being. This leaves us with Zoboli, Rivalta, Ogbonna, Benedetti and D'Aiello. My guess would be Ogbonna and Rivalta as full-backs with Zoboli and Benedetti in the center. Not enticing, but it's not as worse as it could be.
Thank God Sereni is back, Calderoni is a walking disaster.
I would imagine we will see Pestrin again in the midfield, and Piá, León, and Bianchi leading the attack. Hopefully Salgado can fit somewhere off the bench.
This will be tough but I believe the boys can do it! Show us what you can do, ragazzi! FORZA VECCHIO CUORE GRANATA!
