Serie A Matchday 22: Inter-Torino

The best we can hope for here is that maybe we have a new signing that can make a good debut and that Inter doesn't shatter our morale too much. Mourinho is back after his ban and they will be without Adriano and most likely Balotelli. Still, as they showed tonight that doesn't matter.

Other games we have to watch out for:

Bologna-Fiorentina
Chievo-Sampdoria
Reggina-Roma
Siena-Lecce

Not too promising for us. Will post more later in the week.

The likely team:

Rosina - Bianchi

Rubin - P. Zanetti - Dzemaili - Abate

Ogbonna - Natali - Dellafiore - Rivalta

Sereni

Bench: Calderoni, Di Loreto, Barone, Corini, Säumel, Amoruso, Stellone

That's pretty much the best lineup we can field...Abbruscato, Pratali, and Pisano are the only ones missing and that's through injury.

Inter's possible lineup:

Cruz - Ibrahimovic

Stankovic

Maxwell - Cambiasso - J. Zanetti

Santon - Burdisso - Cordoba - Maicon

Júlio César

Bench: Toldo, Rivas, Figo, Quaresma, Jimenez, Mancini, Crespo

Even though they are missing a host of players (Materazzi, Vieira, Samuel, Chivu, Adriano, Balotelli, and Muntari) that still is a menacing lineup. The only remote weakness I can possibly see is the defense. There is no doubting that Santon has talent and will be a star, but he would probably be the weak link, that and it is possible Burdisso could have a bad game. Unlikely that we will win, but I hope to see some good understanding from Dellafiore and Natali as they should be our central defensive pairing for the rest of the season unless we see Panucci arrive, which is looking more and more unlikely.

Heartstopper of a game, every Inter corner nearly made me nuts. Sereni made three fantastic saves on corners but was completely at fault for the Inter goal, IMO. Our goal was pretty good, we caught Inter out right at the beginning of the second half, they gave Abate a bunch of space and he crossed it right onto the head of Bianchi. We played with a lot of character, which is pleasing, but other results have not gone our way. None of the other relegation battlers lost and Lecce even managed to win at Siena despite being at 10 men for most of the game. This means we are now four points from safety.
