We travel to a midweek match vs. Udinese on pretty good form, having gotten seven out of nine possible points in our last three matches. Further good news is that we will probably see the debut of the best striker in the squad, Di Michele, whose ban ends October 30, the day before the match. Gazzetta says he will start on the bench, but I hope he makes an impact as soon as possible. We are missing Rubin for the long term, and in addition are missing Franceschini, Barone, Grella, and Bjelanovic to injury. Natali still has one game left on his ban received after the sending off against Atalanta. Hopefully we will see Recoba play a good amount of time.
Probable lineup according to gazzetta.it:
Udinese are a really hard team to read sometimes, they play well enough of the time but also are prone to weird results. Napoli beat them 5-0 in Udine, but they've also gotten great results away to Inter and i ladri. They're unbeaten in their last four games, beating Lazio 1-0 away today, and before that the two most recent results being draws, their last defeat coming away to Genoa back in September. Currently they are sitting 7th, which is where we want to be. I think a draw would be a creditable result here, but if we can grind out a win like we have against Samp and Cagliari, I'd be pleased. Hopefully Di Michele can do something against his former club. Udinese have a potent attacking three of Di Natale, Asasmoah, and Quagliarella, but the rest of the team with the exception of Mesto and Felipe don't look to be anything out of the ordinary. They will likely line up like this:
