Friendly: Albania - Azerbaijan 2:1

Our two countries play each other in August.

Can I get some info on your lineup, and any players abroad that you may have?

Predictions?

Hi, RedandBlack!

Frankly speaking I haven't heard anything about upcoming friendly with Albania, so I can't really say much about it at the moment. But overall, the situation at Azerbaijani NT is covered in darkness. Our football federation recently sacked brazilian coach Carlos Alberto Torres and appointed an interim coach Vagif Sadikhov, but no one really knows how long is he going to stay. Rumors are that new foreign coach might soon be brought in. Therefore it is really hard to say anything about possible line-ups and tactics for the upcoming game. But stay in touch and we’ll be glad to let you know if something new happens, and we’ll keep you posted.

And concerning azeri players abroad… we don't have too many of them at the moment. Now many azeri players are actually coming back, as in the past year local championship attracted significant amounts of money and now it pays off quite well to be a footballer in Azerbaijan As a result many azeri players who played in Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and Iran are now sign contracts with Azeri clubs.

I heard this friendly will take place in August and was already arranged when Torres was coaching. I think Sadygov, being a U-21 coach, would try to bring in some players from the U-21 squad and hopefully the "refusniks" (Samir,Zaur, and Mahmud) will come back to the NT.

Can we get some info on Martini, I searched a little for him on google but it was in Albanian, does in play in Kosevo? It seems like hes a scorer because I read he scored a double in one of the league matches. How big is he???

Thats a picture of him when.

He played for Eintracht frankfurt for two seasons I think, he did pretty well there and then came back to Albania.

Martini plays fore Flamurtari in Kosova Superleague, about this game I predict a tie, knowing this isn't an imporntant game for either of us just for the reserves.

My tip, don't waste money in a boring match (training).

It will be first match for Vagif Sadigov as new coach (his third coming to NT)

I hope that our new tactics will be 4-3-3

Kramarenko

Shukurov, Rashad Sadigov, Gadjiyev, Ruslan Abasov

Kamal Guliyev, Bahshiyev, Emin Guliyev

Tagizade, Ismaylov, Aliyev

Btw, new coach of U-21 is Yunis Guseynov, former coach of Karvan.

Their not really as tall as many european defenders but have good "leaps" in the air and good with the ball.

Rashad Sadygov - 178
Rail Malikov - 185
Rafael Amirbekov - 182
Aftandil Hajiev- 184
Ilgar Abdurahmanov - 181
Kamal Guliyev - 176

it will be a boring match I guess on both sides. At least for Albania will play all players from Albanian League I dont think guys like Erion Bogdani(Chievo) Igli Tare(Bologna),Altin Lala(Hannover),Lorik Cana(Paris-SG),Ervin Skela (Kaiserslautern),Besnik Hasi(Anderlecht) will be on this match since they will be busy with their clubs.Anyway I will be on the stadium watching this game Im pretty sure.

this would be a good game to check reserves both for Albania and us. Plus Vagif Sadihov will get a chance to experiment with the squad and make his mind about strategy for the next WC qualification game

We will play 3 matches in 20 days (including 2 official), so our team will be very balanced :rollani:

And this match against Albania will be very important for our players for their confidence in their power.
