Paintings/Artworks you've bought

I just bought my first painting, so we might aswell have this thread.
Post a pic of the paintings, artworks you have.

well i paid $90 aus, and its not exactly the best, but i knew it would suit my room perfectly...and it does because the overall "blueness" of the painting contrasts with the off white/yellow paint i have on my walls. Also, my bed sheets are blue, so it fits in perfectly, which is why i bought it. I got it at a festival we have at the St. Kilda beach every year...guiness book of records gave them the chance to try and beat the pash your partner record . Anyway i bought it from one of the stalls in the market there which goes along the beach. Nothing special but to be honest i liked the artists bigger paintings which are soo much better and more $$$$. So i thought why not!

My Mom is crazy about paintings, we have quite a lot of them at home. Last time she was in Milan she bought two, one by an Italian painter and the other by an Albanian one. When I go home I will take photos and post them

Just found this thread again

I'm curious, besides [and including] art, what else do we all collect?

Well will you tell us

- what's in your collection?
- when did you begin your collection?
- why do you collect?
- any future plans?

My very first collector's item is a book of poetry I found after my grandmother's apartment in Hong Kong was flooded and dried out in 1986 when I was 10. It was the writing of my great great grandfather, done in the late Qing Dynasty. The book was hand sewn in thin red thread and the poems were written in black ink on medium weight rice paper. I still have it in a box on the book shelf.

pretty cool, i dont really have any art collectables...actually just remembered....i have one....i have an original armondo testa cat illustration made with i think some sort of paper, paint and this flat mesh stuff...i will scan it in. In the future it will be worth a lot...when hes dead. He is the owner of the second (switches between 1 and 2) biggest advertising agency in italy. I have a collection of his posters but they arnt originals ofcourse. So yeh no old stuff. Armando Testa
