Latino Art

This will be a great chance for us to view and discuss the Latin artist!

We can also look at pre-columbian works from the Maya, Incas and aztec as well and the works of the indigenious people.

Tezcatlipoca was also known for his ability to guide rulers by the light of his torch, and he was profoundly associated with legitimate rulership. To make matters more confusing (but interesting), Quetzalcoatl was occasionally referred to as the White Tezcatlipoca

history note: Quetzalcoatl was prophesied to return from the east as a conquering lord. That day coincided on the exact day that Hernan Cortes & the spanish conquistadores

Che, the Incas, and mentioned in second place has nothing to do with Latin, no way I mean to be the professor with you, but they deserve another thread.

Is enough that the rest of the world put Latin all in a bag to add Pre Columbian manifestations in the bag too, just my cocky, as usuall, opinion.
By the way could be interesting to add that the artesanies, and paintings of Pre Columbians (what a bad term no?, they aren t anymore the Incas, Aztecs, Mayans, they are just Pre...sad but not less true in it anyway) as many other ancient Cultures were really art for them, not my opinion in many cases for me, still can find incredible polirritmic music in many tribes in Africa that has lot more with espiritual/religious bases than what we think of Art, if its possible to define it...bye man, great paintings btw, the Chilean seems to have some Pollock/Miro influences going on, no?

you make some good points.

However, I think we can see the influnces on the modern artist, from the mural paintings and symbolism that has been passed down through the generations for these great civilizations!
