Liga BBVA | J4 | Atlético de Madrid vs UD Almería

Some interesting selections by Simeone who's rotating a few of the most important players. Raúl García and Tiago get a start after their performances against Rayo Vallecano while the big surprise is José María Giménez who makes his debut at Vicente Calderón against Almería alongside Godín today. He was brilliant against Colombia earlier this week and played an important part when Uruguay beat them with 2-0 while getting a special assignment to mark Falcao.

Miranda is still struggling with the fever so he's been completely dropped from the squad. The presence of Bounou on the bench is because of Aranzubia's injury.

Final score 4-2

Villa opened the score with a nice volley off his left foot. Diego Costa made it 2-0 through a penalty after Filipe was bought down in the box.

Almeria pulled one back before half time. It was a good cross but the defence should have dealt with it better.

It ago made it 3-1 during the second half. It was a nice set piece move and Raul Garcia scored the 4th goal after quite a few attempts during the course of the match.

Almeria pulled one back during the dying minutes.

Yo me voy al Manzanares
al estadio Vicente Calderon
donde acuden a millares
los que gustan del futbol de emocion
Porque luchan como hermanos
defendiendo su colores
en un juego noble y sano
derrochando coraje y corazon
Atleti, Atleti, Atletico de Madrid...
