A good and especially determined start from Atleti who intiated their pressing game right away. The goal comes on the very first chance after a nicely put in cross by Koke who found Diego Costa. The run off the ball is important as he times it perfectly between Toño and a Granada-defender before making it 1-0. We continued doing a determined job in terms of closing down Granada's attempts to attack and the players did well in the centre, however, they did let up a bit space on the wings without ever being in danger of conceding a goal. The closest they've come is Falcao's clearance over the bar and it wasn't really that close. There was a dip in overall play during that part but everything changed when Cebolla started that counter attack where Diego Costa set up Falcao for his 23rd goal of the season. Trademark counter attack: pace, directness and brilliant end product, especially the pass. Falcao is just offside but it's very hard to see in that pace, just like the goal we allowed against Real Sociedad a couple of months ago.
Atlético should've had another goal as Raúl García got the ball after a Granada-player tried to block the pass which wasn't directed at RG8 and a possible penalty when Bryan Angulo handled the ball by mistake in the penalty area. All in all though, there isn't really much to talk about here. Most important thing is to see it through and hopefully Óliver and Saúl get a shot if we're doing just that.
