Gracias por todo Diego, eres un crack!

193 games and 95 goals

Diego Forlán came as Fernando Torres' replacement. His signing was announced four days before El Niño left for Liverpool, on June 30 and he was still with Uruguay, playing Copa América 2007. Cacha became an instant hero at Vicente Calderón and scored in his very first game for the club against Gloria Bistriţa which helped Atlético get into the play-off round of UEFA Cup in 2007-2008. The club also achieved a fourth place in Primera División during the same season and Forlán scored the second goal in the 4-0-thrasing of Schalke which got us into UEFA Champions League. Diego would go on and win his second golden shoe and Pichichi-title during his second year at the club. His stunning run of 20 goals in 17 games from February 8 to May 30 gave us a spot in the Champions League when Agüero wasn't quite doing as well as he could've.

2009-2010 started in a catastrophic way. Atlético were actually battling against relegation for a while and nobody could believe what would happen just six months later. The club didn't do well in the league, we struggled, everything went against Atlético..

..and then we started dreaming..

..while Forlán made the dreams come true.

Atlético also became Supercampiones..before things started going wrong with Quique and Gil Marín. The last season is something he'd rather forget but a player of his calibre will always be remembered for everything he gave to the club.

I will never forget the time he took off his vacations every summer, just to be well integrated into the team. The same goes for his games against Godset where he helped Atlético qualify for the play-off round.

Gracias crack y suerte en su nuevo camino

Feeling bad that he was forced out of the team whereas I felt that he wanted to prove to everybody that last season was something to forget. He is leaving as a gentleman despite of the treatment meted out to him by Gil Marin & sometimes by some section of fans. Wish him luck.

One of the best strikers in La Liga during the past few seasons.. actually I think he was the best striker in La Liga, with his only competition coming from Higuain and Villa.

Really shame he's leaving La Liga. I don't know why your management were ready to let him go so easily.. losing Aguero and Forlan and replacing them with only Falcao? Yes you'll most likely play with one striker and signed Pizzi... but he could have still played a major role.

Anyways, great player Loved his Forlanzo's.... and appreciate that he wasn't successful in helping his team for a victory against Real Madrid

Previously known as Maximiliano.

Aupa Atleti !!!!

Yo me voy al Manzanares
al estadio Vicente Calderon
donde acuden a millares
los que gustan del futbol de emocion
Porque luchan como hermanos
defendiendo su colores
en un juego noble y sano
derrochando coraje y corazon
Atleti, Atleti, Atletico de Madrid...

Real =
Barca =
