Yes, last year was a disgrace, we couldn't hold on to a 1-0-lead despite being two players more on the pitch, however, Mallorca will be playing with eleven men on the pitch tonight, so more of a chance now, always the opposite logic when it comes to Atlético.

A lot of stuff are happening at the moment; Tiago said goodbye to the Portuguese NT while we've signed Adrián López from Deportivo out of nowhere, just what we needed, another mediocre striker who scores in two games and then doesn't in the upcoming ten. Oh well..moving on, Mallorca is the main attraction for tonight and it'll be tough, however, they haven't won at Vicente Calderón since 2005 I believe, can't quite remember, it's been a while anyways.

Agüero's obviously injured and won't play, typically our luck.

STARTING LINE-UP


De Gea
Valera - Ujfaluši - Godín - Antonio López
Assunçao - Tiago - Elías
Mérida - Forlán - Reyes

So, Elías is making his debut and Quique decides to rest Filipe as well as Juanfran for the game against Madrid later this week, meanwhile, Antonio and Valerinha get starts while Tiago is back in the starting line-up after a couple of games absence. Mérida will either play on the wing in a 4-3-3 or in a 4-4-2, we'll see, interesting line-up nontheless.

Mallorca will play; Aouate; Kevin, Rubén, Nunes, Cendrós; De Guzmán, Joao Víctor, Pereira, Nsue; Víctor and Webó.

Very interesting line-up. I was seeing a 4-4-2 in Marca' line up few hours ago and was thinking why the hell we bought Elias. Thankfully he will be making hie debut today and hopefully he plays well.

Is Adrian confirmed buy?

Not yet, but Marca are reporting it on their website, I saw Mundo Atléti wrote a piece on it a while ago and it seems like it's true. Marca usually breaks our transfers early.

Took sometime for the team to get into the game as Mallorca dominated in the first 5 minutes or so. Good corner from Reyes.

Btw guys this isn't Elias playing, he's quite obviusly shaking to his soul or something, too worried about his position and shows how it's like to play with a team for a first time.

He needs to loosen up and feel more free, and he will in time... the fact that both Assoncao and Tiago always come backwards to get the ball and start the offence straight forward really damages his game though.

Don't waste your time on jealously; sometimes you're ahead, sometimes you're behind.

The race is long, and in the end - it's only with yourself.

That's normal for a debut, he just isn't used to this type of system either, he'll adapt during the first year.

However, he's had some really poor passes at times, it'll get better though.

Sure will, don't worry.. he looks afraid to make a mistake and leave his position on the field.. again I think he needs to be given a little more of the ball, or atleast a little more freedom to roam and be encouraged to run more.. I mean usually he's all over the pitch but today he looks so 'in his own shell' not barely leaving his spot.
