Liga BBVA | J16 |Málaga CF vs Club Atlético de Madrid
After being dumped out of Europa League during mid week Atletico take on Malaga at La Rosaleda Stadium at 7 pm on Sunday 1900 CET. Now the focus for the team should be to get to the CL spot at the earliest and finish off in the top 4 by the end of season.
The following 18 players have been called up for the match:
13 De Gea
14 Filipe Luis
4 Mario Suárez
8 Raúl García
11 Fran Mérida
22 Diego Costa
Antonio Lopez has been dropped from the selection and Ujfalusi comes back and expected to be slotting into the right back position. Reyes was rested during the mid week match as a precaution and he should be back. This might be the last match for Simao in Atleti colors as he is expected to sign up for Besiktas in the next few days. He will be captaining the side in the absence of Antonio Lopez.
Malaga sits in the last relegation position. The appointment of Pelligrini has not brought in the expected consistent performances but they are still getting the results in their home matches winning 1-0 and 4-1 against Levante & Racing respectively. In their last match day they were thumped 4-1 by Hercules in an away match. Atleti have displayed inept performance after their mid week performances and the chill conditions during their match against Leverkusen will not be that much helpful. This is going to be a tricky match but need to get a good result to forget the Europe disappointment.
