Copa del Rey - Final - vs Sevilla

Camp Nou is the venue for the players to complete the double success for this season as we play against Sevilla in the Copa del Rey final. The last time the team won the Spanish cup was way back in 1996 and their previous final appearance was in the year of relegation.

After winning the Europa League last week the coach decided to rest majority of players for the last match of the league against Getafe. Though the match was lost it was of no signifigance and would not be hurting the team' confidence. Sevilla on the other hand had to fight till the end to ensure that they finish in CL places.

Quique has called upon 23 players with the exception of Asenjo & Borja, both injured and will be out of action for 6 months. The list will be shortened tomorrow.

Goalkeepers: De Gea and Joel.
Defenders: Valera, Antonio López, Pernía, Juanito, Ujfalusi, Domínguez, Perea, Pablo and Cabrera.
Midfielders: Tiago, Camacho, Raúl García, Jurado, Assunçao, Salvio, Reyes, Simao and Rubén Pérez.
Forwards: Forlán, Agüero and Ibra.

Sevilla have their own injury problems. Fabiano misses the final due to injury along with Fazio, Fernando Navarro and Ivica Dragutinovic.

FT 0-2.

Not a great display but gudos to the players for reaching the final. No harsh words on them now.

Yeah, the final leaves a bad taste in our mouth, but we should be happy with Europa League after everything that happened this season.

The fans are lovely though, 50,000 people singing "Atléti, Atléti, Atléti!" after the final whistle. Also, I hope we keep Tiago, he's won me over with his approach, feel sorry for him, he was a beast tonight.

Anyways, big congratulations to Sevilla, their fans, to Puerta and his family

Great show by the fans from both teams. Good contrast to the picnicking Barcelona fans who usually fill out this stadium to talk about the weather.

We had our fair share of chances, but didn't convert on them. Sevilla weren't really superior, they were a lot more clinical and of course, De Gea can't save like fourty 1-on-1's.

Well done mate .

Shame you couldn't get the double but you can still hold your head up pretty high after some epic performances in the last few months.

In Hamburg we won on the pitch, yesterday we won in the stands!

AMAZING what we did after the game ... the most special moment in my Atlético career.

If you ask me, this was more worth than winning the Copa. Atlético is back ... team and fans as a unit.

Incredible!

Atlético HASTA LA MUERTE!
