austerlitz.

yesturday was the bicentenaire of the austerlitz battle.
which is one of the most perfect tactical battles according to the historians.
british do have their waterloo, we have our austerlitz

Yay, let's celebrate! Huzzah for the dictatorship of our Corsican overlord with the Little Man Complex and the snazzy hat!

Q. The Napoleonic Wars were a French defeat. Which of the following battles least represents that result? Is it:

A) Trafalgar - A French defeat!
B) Waterloo - A French defeat!
C) Berezina - A French defeat!
D) Salamanca - A French defeat!
E) Austerlitz - A French victory? (!) :eekani:

Ooh, that is a noodle-scratcher. In fact, it's so tough that I'll offer a Trafalgar 200 commemorative mug to the first person to answer it correctly.

Glen: "That last post of Bastin's is just too authoritative to argue against."

gOD: "It scares the f*ck out of me but I'm with Bastin here."

Cacìni: "Ah, there you go using that absurd über-memory of your's...not fair."

Boyo: "Even when it comes to rap, Bastin is an authority."

Th greatest french victory was this lovely french gal, twenty five years ago or more, she was a clean and fragrant gal from Amiens, and let me tell you did she turn a frickin trick on old Romulus here. Let me tell you, I surrendered, I let her work me over, I was her frickin prisoner...aaaahhhhh what delightful slavery

Oh no ma cherie, I admit I've never enjoyed a French gal on her native soil, but I've enjoyed that loose race of women on two different continents...alas never in France, boy would that be added spice if you know what I mean, man oh man, knowing the man of the house was just around the corner, well that just adds to the excitement (especially for the lady in question, you know what I mean)

She imagine Napoleon walking proudly on the ice
- There is plenty of them, somes are sliding on theirs belly.
She imagine a hundred of Napoleons, somes are sliding.
- Then they exchange their eggs
Napoleons are sitting and exchanging chicken eggs
- After having copulate for hours.
Then you see Napoleons stopping all, staring at the camera. With the :eekani: expression.

The whole idea of renaming battles is anathema to me. What's the point of trying to be really accurate in recreating a battle, if you fight it under a modern name? Next, they'll recreate Waterloo with Challenger 2s because they're more up-to-date and appreciable. Thankfully, the Battle of Koeniggratz hasn't yet become Hradec Kralove, but that day will come.

Bastin, take it easy They didn't rename the battle, it's just that the place the battle has taken place at has been renamed in the meantime.

Oh, OK. The point remains valid, even if it doesn't apply in this case. For example, most of the battles of the Seven Years' War have been renamed (Breslau => Wroclaw, Reichenberg => Liberec, etc).
