Being a Supreme Court Justice is not brain surgery. There are thousands of non-judge lawyers in the US who would do a fine job on the SC. All I ask for is honesty and willingness to learn and listen. Besides the clerks do most of the legal research. Anyone can understand the United States Constitution. It's supposed to be that way.

Are you sure everyone does? Because I agree that it is "supposed" to be like that... but I doubt many do.
