I find myself increasingly not reading the newspaper and instead reading weblogs. What are your favourites and how could you describe them?
Some i read are:
The best UK based blog by far. Left wing but generally hawkish on foreign policy.
The blog of Professor Norman Geras, he is a Marxist but you would never guess.
The Daily Ablution
Right wing but good for 'fisking' unfactual articles and had the honour of becoming the first British based blog to get a mainstream media scalp a few months ago
Iraq the Model
I used to like Salam Pax who got to be quite famous but it seems he is no longer writing but I've liked reading these two brothers stuff in his absence
I think this is biggest liberal blog, based in the US.
Second biggest liberal blog also based in the US. Generally a bit funnier than the Daily Kos
Little Green Footballs
Right wing US blog where everything is part of a liberal conspiracy! But influential, I think this has broken a few big stories that the regular media then covered.
I think this was one of the first major ones and is still one of the most popular with over a million hits a day. Republican on issues like foreign policy and the war on terror but supports abortion rights, civil unions and others things like that so not totally right wing.
Does anyone have their own blog?
I think it would be quite fun to start one, is anyone interested? I think it would be good to have one that contains a few from opposing and differing viewpoints and from different countries and cultures too!
