Did the U.S. govt. allow Bin Laden to escape from Tora Bora?

[URL=http://http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8853000/site/newsweek/]

Bernsten, a CIA commander claims in his forthcoming book that Osama Bin Laden was allowed to escape from Tora Bora. He mainly blames Rumsfeld and the Pentagon.

But why spare Osama? to keep him alive as a useful boogey man?

It was strange to many ordinary observers how the U.S. army, with all its might could not catch Osama.

Bush needs an enemy, a constant threat to make what he wants and to cause panic among his population to apply all the ultra-conservative messures. Bin Laden is the face of Al-Qaeda. The war of Iraq is the proof that Bush never cared about terrorism, he doesn't care at all, he uses the fear and a supposed state of war to take all his decisions. Then even if he attacks the human rights and the fundamental freedoms, he can justify all his policies in a sentence: we're in war and we took this decision to beat these terrorists that attack our freedom.

Bin Laden is the excuse for everything. Bush needs him free.

For what reason? What does he seek to accomplish by it?

It's easy to understand that people are more likely to accept cuts in their freedom in situations of tension and fear. Trading security for freedom. Bush's goal is to establish a ultra-conservative state and he uses terrorism to achieve his goals. He has promoted the industries that help him win the elections and also his "taliban-christian" view on life. Terrorism is the excuse: "If we don't do that, Bin Laden is going to come here and kick our asses". Terrorism is just an excuse, he doesn't care shit about terrorism, he never did. If he had cared about it, he would have never gone to Iraq. I wouldn't say that he is happy with what happened in Sept 11th, but obviously, it made much more easy and faster everything.

When have we carpet bombed last? Vietnam i think. We have missles that have pin point targeting. Carpeting bombing is a thing of the past.

I don't find it suprising at all. Letting bin Laden go knowing he is really harmless with the network taken out is exactly Bush's idea of a victory. One that will be sealed with the unveiling of Bin laden's capture weeks before November 2008.

Who is JA?

I thought the 2004 election he was going to be captured? I guess Bush knew he had the election in the bag and just wants to delay his inevitable capture to 08 where the Republicans will need it. Brilliant!!

Does anyone want to hear my theory that this recent Space Shuttle launch is just a hoax and everything is being filmed in a studio in Cape Canaveral?
