i work for a notary.
basic 9 to 5 job, but pretty important job, doing almost all the startup for most cases
have around 25 days off on a year
earning 600 euro more salary each month(+ some bonuses think earn around 800 more) than i did 6/7 years ago, get a raise of a 100 euro a year at the moment.
have flexible hours (can start later or earlier), or go home when my daughter is sick,
when my daughter was released from hospital after her heart surgery i asked for some unpaid leave (around 3 weeks to finally be with her, when i got back and got my pay check of that month my boss gave me paid leave),
we get treated to fancy restaurants once or twice a year with the whole office, or little gifts ranging from free lunch, or a bottle of gin when i have to look after our office dog (means only putting food in the bowl)
so its nice to work somewhere you are appriciated for what you do (hard work) but also get satisfaction from what i do, because make up marriage contracts, helping people buying their house, helping them with the financial side, or helping them when a family member has deceased and they need help involving their documents, or helping them selling their house.
a lot of work and reading (regulations, laws, ...) but i like it
the only negative is maybe not a lot of vacation days (put in mind i always have a least one unused vaction day i have to take over to the next year)
At the bottom, you see, we are not Homo-sapiens at all. Our core is madness. The prime directive is murder. What Darwin was too polite to say, my friends, is that we came to rule the earth not because we were the smartest, or even the meanest, but because we have always been the craziest, most murderous mother....ers in the jungle. -Stephen King
