Inquiring about something for people who are living in Hungary

Hey all.

This is a sort of weird question, but I have been wondering for a while and I thought I might give it a go here.

When I was little and went for a vacation back home to Hungary in the 90's, we bought some Hungarian comic books there that were American properties, that seemed to be directly translated and printed as such.

For example, there was Spiderman and it says "Pókember" on the cover and Batman with "Denevérember" on the cover. I believe I also have a Daredevil and such.

I am wondering if this still exists in Hungary. Are DC, Marvel and such comic books translated and printed, or do you all just get the original English ones to buy?

I would love to know about it if they make translated comic books about the English properties here. Or if not, what comic books are available over there?

They're translated still. As are movies and tv shows.

I'm not sure if you can buy original ones.

So something like Green Arrow comic issue in Hungary has the text balloons and everything translated inside? Is it called Green Arrow or something like "Zöld Nyíl"?

I would love to see some images or such so I could see. Well, I'd love to buy some, but seeing some would be cool.

I'm not really a comic book fan (not even as a kid)...I like Chris Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy, actually I love it. But it's more Chris Nolan than Batman I'm a fan of. I think the new Spiderman movie sucked big time. So I can't really answer your question. I know they're sold and translated. But I don't know how many different types they sell.

You can send a message (or call) magyar posta and they will send to you (if they have). I went to Balatonederics post office and ordered a Hungarian satellite magazine called Telehold to be delivered to UK every week. Also bought some stuff for my Nagyi so she didn't get bored when I'm not around.

Or you could just ask someone from Hungary to send it to you. If you don't know anyone and you hung my bare feet to the fire; I could get someone to send it to you. But of course he'll need to have a 'finders fee'. You know, for the work in obtaining and packing and sending.

Nearly forgot, did you try ebay? there are some Hungarians on there will let you ask for what you want. If it's okay with them, they'll obtain it for you.

I can't remember the name of the guy right now. But he'll almost buy anything for you. It's 4am currently and I'm too tired to find his details right now.

But this is a cool guy: http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/imrehun

He sells DVDs mainly. But you could negotiate with him, if you wish.
