ILA/Jeff...Get well!!!

I have just come across this thread including a message from his brother

Quote:
Hi, I'm David, Jeff's brother.

Jeff has had to go to hospital for a very serious problem with his heart and lungs. Things look very positive for him, he’s receiving excellent care but he could be in hospital for a number of weeks.

I'm sure a lot of you know he hasn't be in very good health for some time now. While this is a worrying time, I am glad he is finally getting help. We have had so many doctors look at him and tell us they couldn't find anything wrong with him. It was so frustrating. At least now he can start getting better.

I can pass on any messages you have for him.

Best regards,
David.
I thought you guys may want to know about it and send your get well wishes.

I've been on anti-depressants for years now, since I told them I had suicidal thoughts, and they've done a good job - I feel a lot calmer in my mind. I don't have so much anxiety as I used to. To be honest with you, I still don't get out of the house much, not as much as I'd like.

I'm glad the anti-depressants are working for you. But it may be a placebo.

I have more to ask, I is hurting to do some squirting...and pour a drink.

Tell me, have you ever called a bloke 'buddy, mate' or 'pal' ....to later find out she is a girl?

Does it hurt to urinate? Ah, no. p

As for that last bit, it's kind of curious you mention that, as my mother was telling us a story last night about a man they knew at Church, he'd often fling his arm around their shoulders in a gesture of friendship, you know, but last time they were there, in an off hand way he told them he used to be a woman. My mother was definitely weirded out by the whole experience. I insisted that she try and keep an open mind about the whole thing and reminded her about the documentary we'd seen last year about the kids getting sex changes, anyway... no I haven't.

It means I've held a pee in for a while, I pee fine

Two days ago I went to a cob shop and it was all pig rubbish. I said "excuse me mate!"...."do you have anything with just the chicken?" ....she said no and started chat. I felt so bad, but she smiled it off. She then said "there is a Bacon and Chicken sandwich". LOL...she didn't listen.

Which anti-depressant are you taking?

Are you taking more pills than me?

I personally don't think anti-depressants work! but people think they're getting better so they get more confident. Which if you think about it end result is the same.

People are committing suicide here almost daily. They lose their jobs and the government doesn't give them any money for months. Also people who are sick get their money cancelled as do people who haven't found a job quick enough.

Loads of people have died jumping into the canal here. One lad (22 yrs) jumped in front of a train right were I live just a few days ago.

So which med you on?

The anti-depressant is zoloft. Meds for epilepsy, topamax and epilim. Used to be on keppra but the neurologist took me off that when the side effects got too nasty. I need to find the list of immunosuppressive drugs I'm on, sorry.

Dr Lakhani tried to put me on that. As he tried to put me on all other AD since I complained about poor sleep. Interestingly, my other doc Dr Dunn I knew since I was a baby and I saw him all the time never once suggested that I should be on AD, simply because I'm not clinically depressed. I always thought you were (btw).

My boyfriend's wife was on that too. The BF said it works when she takes it regularly, but if she misses days she goes back to how she was before. She is on amitriptiline now.
They reckon it helps. She got the same illness as what my sister died from. My sister died, so she is lucky to be alive. But she has some brain damage. I'm so glad we called a truce with his wife before all this happened.

How long did you take it before it started to work? Also did you get any side-effects? Urinary retention, low sex drive, headache etc.

Not sure exactly how long it took before it began to work - not straight away, it felt like a bit of a gradual process. At first I had the same negative thought patterns, but the longer time past, well, as I said, the calmer I felt within myself. I do get headaches sometimes, maybe just because I use the PC too much.

Dr Lakhani told me using PC doesn't cause headaches because if it did he'd have 1000s of people coming in with headaches all the time.

Talking of Dr Lakhani, (My GP)... did you hear that he now reads this forum to get information on me? The same one who took the photos I showed you.

Also...did you watch Gone Girl? Fincher's latest? I thought it was great. One of my movies of the year.

In no order, the top 5 of 2014 would be:

- Yankee Sniper
- Nightcrawler
- Dawn of the planet of the Martin Keowns
- Interstella
- Gone Gurly

also what else have you seen that is good? and will you stick around to help boost the forum up a bit? Morti came to my house last Saturday and I feel sorry for him that he wasn't around to experience the good times. At lease we can show him a peak of what we had.

I've actually seen quite a few movies lately, though they weren't 2014 films, I saw them on various movie channels that we get on cable, such as TCM and World Movies.

My brother really liked Gone Girl too, though he thought Interstellar was overrated.

And yeah I'll try and stick around

I saw this last night, really liked it.

Birdman was a very good movie. I have a 2015 movies thread in the movies forum BTW.

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? And….it’s the football, that’s the football, something happened. Everything is something happened. - Fatih Terim

I think I may watch that. I'm interested in women's rights in places like that. Specifically a certain country

I'm not sure if you said you've seen Gone Girl or your brother watched it?

I'm curious to why Interstellar is overrated? I think it's amazing that a director goes to that effort to build sets, do practicable stunts and build real machines. We live in a time when all the expensive movies are full of CGI. There is very little computer graphics in this movie. Just the space mainly...everything else is built to scale. When I see someone falling and hit the ground in a movie nowadays, you can tell it's computer graphics. Nolan still hires stuntmen. CG explosion? Not for Nolan...he blows things up for real. Which makes things look so much better.

That's one of the reason I like Fincher! everything is real and he'll only use CG if he really has to. Also to take items out of the picture.

Sorry, but it's a bugbear of mine. Nolan should be worshipped for still shooting on film at the highest res (IMAX) and making things look real. Not CG'd in!!
