Georgian teams are a tough nut to crack, especially at home. Away goal will be crucial.

i'd say banants have the smallest chances of moving to the next round. they're squad is crap. they have some pretty loaded investors that are very ambitious but I can't see their squad defeating a team like omonia. pyunik is filled with inexperienced and young footballers but they have a relatively weak opponent to compensate for that. i think they should be able to get passed the gibraltar club but they'll get trashed the round after. i think shirak has the potential to get past dila. shirak plays very well at home. if they pick up a decent striker and a keeper then they should be fine. as for alashkert, they have no excuse but to progress from the first round. i have high hopes for them this year.

I actually think that Banants and Alashkert have the best chances of advancing compared to Shirak, and Pyunik has to get passed gibraltar. Banants and Alashkert have a very good coaching staff with Romallo and Khashmanyan. Also, Banants have so good otars compbined with some talented youngster such as Hakob Hakobyan and Petros Avetisyan. Alashkert added Artak Dashyan to their squad and has the a very good chance to get past the second round because of how mature the players are and Khashmanyan can actually draw out a tactical gameplan. Shirak doesnt have the same strike force as they had in the past years. kouakou is not nearly as good as deble or Bouguhi, Stamenkovich is gone, but Aivazov has joined to strengthen the GK position.

Alashkert has problems with their squad, though. Heber's contract run out and no one knows at this point if he's going to resume his career in Armenia. Arakelyan & Artur Yedi have problems with their health. Also Dashyan is not fully match fit to play 90min, according to Khashmanyan.

Pyunik has the easiest opponent, but they need to strengthen their squad asap. They sold almost their entire defense plus goalie. At least 2 new decent experienced CB's and maybe Beglaryan would do good. If Pyunik chokes this one I will hate them 4eva.

Banants has the strongest opponent with Omonia. Cypriots are a decent side and clearly favorites in my books. Banants has a good coaching staff, but their squad is inexperienced and too young. I've heard rumors they want to bring in some decent Spanish players this summer.

Shirak - Dila is the most balanced draw. Both teams know each other as they have played friendlies in the past. Should be a very close tie with few goals.

omonia is a solid team and is on a completely different level than banants. banants chances of progressing are 20-80 in my opinion. as far as foreign players go, their squad is filled with a bunch of russian 2nd division nobodies. it's no secret that armenian clubs waste their money buying the worst foreigners.

One thing's for sure, whoever manages to win is doomed in the next leg.
