World Cup 2018 Qualifiers - The Road to Russia

Qualifiers start September

Our group

Romania
Denmark
Poland
Montenegro
Armenia
Kazakhstan

I think we should get all 6 points vs Kazakhstan.
A win is doable vs Montenegro and Denmark.

Romania and Poland will be our toughest match ups. Romania can defend with the best of them and won't allow us to break them down outside of counterrattcking football.
Lewandowski can trash our miserable defense all on his own if even given half-chances.
I'm really not expecting anything from these 2 sides. Maybe a draw in between 4 matches at best.

Our backline, as stated before is dire and we still suck at set piece defending.

What are your guys' thoughts on our qualification hopes? What are some realistic expectations you have with this team? Do you potentially see Yura re-joining the squad? Discuss.

I am with you on that one. Realistically I lost hope for anything good after we lost Berezovsky, Yura, Gev, Arzu. But I will be there either way. I wish our team nothing but the best but I have not seen anything from the owner that would make me even a little bit hopeful.

Hayastan or bust.

Gev has been useless for the NT and isn't an upgrade over anyone at that position. Berezovsky was way past it. Our big losses were Yura and Rob for sure.

Insanely difficult group for Armenia. What is the primary realistic objective for Armenia here?

"Ovaj pristup je možda dovoljan za mađarsku ligu, ali je ovo ipak evropska utakmica".- Thomas Doll (23.7.2015).

"Imam osjećaj da postoje ljudi koji stalno gledaju u sat kad će nestati Bosna i Hercegovina, to traje predugo. A ne znaju da oni imaju satove, a BiH ima vrijeme." - Haris Silajdžić (6.12.2017).

Nah it could have been worst. We have beaten all of these teams before except Romania. The problem is not the competition, the problems our team faces are from within our FFA.

You're joking lol. Check out the goals he scored. Majority were tap-ins your grandma would've nailed. He's a useless player for the NT and has been nothing but a liability.

Inzaghi and Trezeguet scored tons of tap-in goals, would you say they were useless players?
He had many assists as well.
Damn we play Manoyan, Artak Yedi, Hayrapetian, Sarkisov, how can we get rid of him? He's not a great player, but we simply need him for official games.

He's done for the NT. His last contribution was earning that penalty kick against Germany two years ago. All he's been good for ever since was losing possession to the opposing teams on a consistent basis. Do any of you even recall the last time he beat his defender or provide any decent passes? And lol @ the Inzaghi and Trezeguet comparisons.

He's weak physically and has 0 speed for his position. Kadimyan and Barseghyan have impressed me more this year than Gev ever has.

Those are some great questions but unfortunately no one here would be able to answer them. Seems like Yura and Rubo have beef so I doubt he comes back. As for Aras, who knows?

I was not comparing him to Inzaghi or Trezeguet, I was just saying that to be in the right place at the right time is called tactics, and he knows how to. I agree about Kadimyan and Barseghyan, but why dont call up Gevo as a sub? There are worse players in our roster, the day all the trash will be removed then you will remove Gevo too.

I get what you're saying. I wouldn't be against having him as a sub if he showed half the effort he did in the previous cycles. I guess you make a fair point in clearing out the trash in the NT, no argument there.

Is any one here going to Copenhagen to see the game against Denmark? I will be there 100%, and probably going for the game against Poland in Warzawa.
