Next Manager

Well here we are again looking for a manager yet again. I would love to see a professional search process followed by a hiring we could all be proud and hopeful of, but I think we all know better then that. Lets start discussing rumors and our hopes about the next leader of our NT.

Hayastan or bust.

VALERY KARPIN NUMBER ONE CANDIDATE TO HEAD THE ARMENIAN NATIONAL TEAM: REPORT

13:11, 01 Apr 2015
Siranush Ghazanchyan

Former head coach of Spartak Moscow and Spanish Mallorca Valery
Karpin is the number one candidate to head the Armenian national team,
sportbox.ru claims. The post remains vacant after BernnardChallandes
quit as Armenia coach earlier this week.

Challandes filed his resignation after a poor start in the
qualification round for Euro-2016. Armenia is currently the last in
Group I with one point earned in four matches.

Karpin, 46, who left Mallorca in February, visited Yerevan over the
weekend to participate in the match dedicated to Khoren Oganesian's
60th birthday. He reportedly met with the leadership of the Football
Federation of Armenia.

Valery Kapin has a successful experience of working with two leading
players of the Armenian national team Yura Movsisyan and Aras Ozbilis.

We can rule out Grigoryan since he signed a new contract with. Russian 1rst division club. Also rule out Manuel Keosseian since he signed a new contract with a very good club in the Uruguayan Premier League.

If it came down to Sako Papi vs Vardan, who would you guys prefer?

I would go with the latter. Neither of them aren't anything spectacular to say the least but, Vardan has proven he can lead us to have some respectable performances vs some of the favorites imo whereas Sako Papi is largely unproven and most likely a bad manager.

I agree. I just hate "old man mentality." Stubborn, not willing to adapt to the current footballing climate. Of course, the opposite is just as bad. We need someone that has a true tactical understanding of the game and its history and is willing to use all the modern technology, analytics, training routines etc. to improve the foundations of the NT. Far cry, I know.

I do not want Trap. The man is a fossil, as are his tactics. If you guys got sick of us taking the ball and hoofing it forward under Bernie, you're gonna get 5x that with Trap as the manager

Karpin is the only reasonable name thus far. Still though, I don't know how he'll fit.

There is good time to pick one. Because unfortunately euro 2016 hopes are over. The goal should be euro 2020. Mkhitaryan be 30 by then..and we should be able to get some players around him.
Considering euro is 24 teams, whereas to qualify for world cup there is 13 positions from europe. So WC18 will be another letdown.

Izvestia.

The russian newspaper who broke the news said that karpin "does not want to be the coach of Armenia for long because he wants to coach another team."

now i dont know if this is pro-russian/anti-armenian bs, but why are we negotiating with this guy for like 3 games as the article above states. we should be looking for someone long term
