Win by two goals. We still need to keep the element of surprise against the heavyweights of the group, remember?

But we also need to stack up the goal count against weaker opposition, God knows we need it. :smileani:

I understand what you mean though, even if everybody expects to barrel their way through Malta. I think after the last season everybody knows we're a high-scoring side. Let's hope we maintain that reputation. I can't help but be nervous ahead of these two games, even if they're supposed to be the easiest. I guess everyone's a little worried though no matter how confident we are. We have a team that on a good day can keep up with the best in the group, but we also know that we have a tendency to mess up. And with that defense of ours I can never enjoy a game without high blood pressure and a looming stroke. Every board needs its resident pessimist I guess.

And Sevak, please don't start any trouble with the Italians. I don't want to be the victim of vengeful treatment if I attend the away game there. But doubt there will be many in attendance, other than some Italians who are already in the country for work or tourism. I don't think this is a big game for their traveling fan base, especially given that we aren't exactly a train ride away.

Dako on UEFA's decision to cancel the Armenia vs Azerbaijan matches. :dielaugh:

However, if the decision stands, we're the victims; whether we play Azerbaijan or not, they still get no points and we lose ours.

Are Karlen going to play against Bulgaria? We need him as much as we need Heno and Yura!!

If I'm not mistaken, the Bulgaria FA said that we are still underdogs against them. I think a lot of teams thought we were a 1 hit wonder, which plays them straight to our hands . If we keep doing things under the radar, with no fancy 5-0 6-0 scorelines but just 2-0 victories, I have a feeling Italy will be in for a rude awakening. We do not need to be fully exposed just yet. The only thing they'll deserve is a handshake for being the better side that night. This isn't club rivalry and we're not some powerhouse with thousands of ultras. I don't want to have a reputation of being bad hosts. There are already enough countries that you don't want to attent sporting events in, we should differentiate ourselves by being welcoming instead of leaving bad impressions. I admire your passion, but let's beat them on the field not the stands.

Anyway, I feel like we've had this conversation here before. And I can assure none of the middle-aged businessman and families on vacation in attendance will be "asking for it."
