The 2007 season - your feelings

What are your feelings about the 2007 year for Armenian football ?

Mine are very good - there were some exciting moments for the National team, espacially the victory over Poland and draw against Portugal. The league was also much more competive - Pyunik's advantage wasn't too big, only 5 points over Banants (comparing to 16 points over Banants in season 2006).
The draw of WCQ 2010 - Estonia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, ARMENIA, Belgium, Turkey, Spain. Difficult group with 2 clear strongest teams, still it could be worse.

What are your feelings and prospects for the future ?

Cementarnica in Vtora Liga 2009/2010
Cementarnica - Miravci 2:0 (Kostadinovski 40'-pen. Naumcevski 43')
Belasica - Cementarnica 1:2 (Markov 24' - Donev 9'-og Trajkovski 47')
Cementarnica - 11 Oktomvri 2:1 (Jakovlevski 15' 77' - Kostadinovski 26'-og)
Cementarnica - Belasica 4:1 (Braga 23' 38' Ristovski 43' Kostadinovski 63' - Jurcevski 88')

the good was when we beat Kazakhstan, Poland and then drew with Portugal - didn't lose in 3 games against the toughest opponents. Also good was Porterfield finding new players for the NT.

the bad was when Ararat ****ed up their chance to win the league which i still find stupid till this day, and also when Porterfield died.

Porterfields death has got to be the worst thing that happened to Armenian football this year.A distant second was our loss to Kazakhstan at home.Berezovsky retiring from our nt cant be good either.Finaly dont forget the "we are too scared to play you" azeri bullshit.
Our win vs Poland and the following jump in the standings was pretty cool.I think our national team has earned some level of respect in the world of football this year.My hope is that FFA hires a good coach who can develop upon Porterfields work and inspire our players to be their best

Ian was my 2007, I still tell my friends about how great he was making Armenia. That last game with the kazaks....thats what happens with out Ian. As for the league I think we are doing better, Pyuink and Mika had some great games in Europe, and I hope to see them do more next year.

BAD MEMORIES

One of my most disapointments this year of course is losing Markos Pizelli from FC Ararat Yerevan.

Manucharyan being injured almost all year long.

Another HUGE disapointment was UEFA's cancelation for the September games againts you-know-who. Baaaaaaahhhh... Let it be past. We gotta focus on the future. Bring on The Turks.

Losing Porterfield was not a disapointment, it was a total heartbreak. Like losing that good uncle you look-up to in the family. If his reign in Armenian Football was very short, I'm convinced his legacy will remain forever. RIP Mr. Porterfield. Armenia Loves You.

GOOD MEMORIES

Hamlet Mkhitaryan's goal and our win againts Poland had to be this year's most memorable moment which we can be very proud of... I can still see Porterfield jumping up and down while clapping his hands with the worlds most exciting expression on his face.

We drew with Portugal, jesus that was something too (even if I still think we should have won if stupid agvan didn't made that crutial defensive mistake.) Remeber how the crowd exploded when we scored first??? Gooooooooooooooooollllllll !!!

Another great acheivment was the discoverance & exposure of young players such as Ararat Arakelyan, Gevorg Ghazaryan, Samvel Melkonyan, Robert Arzumanyan

I'm crossing my fingers for a good coach and hoping 2008 will be much better than 2007. I hope we learn how to move up.

HAAAAAA-YAAAA-STAAAAAAN !! !! !!

Everyone pretty much summarized what I was going to say. I will only add the memories of the Belgium-Armenia game in Brussels. It was an awesome experience!!
