its that Brazilian player that plays for Ararat. I think Porterfield was gonna call him up or something because he was playing well.

i can't wait to watch the Kazakhstan match, it should be much more of an entertaining match as we SHOULD be having a lot more chances on goal with lots of counter attack.

Now I'm pissed at Ian, I mean what the hell is that, look at the lineup :frustrat:

Sargis Hovsepyan- NO COMMENTS...

Raffael Nazaryan- this "dude"-"qiachal quirik" shuld really consider to start to dance bale instad of playing football, but he mad a big miss and started to practise and play football. But what the hell, if he did a mistake in his young age it dosn't mean that we (all Armenian football supporters) have to suffer because of that.

Armen Shahgeldyan- instad of playing football this fat dude should start his own version of "Supersize Me by eating khorovats every day". He's spending more time to fix his hair the running during a football game.

Aram Hakopyan- His best place is to play for Banants, do I have to continue?

Manu- don't know who thinks what, but in my opinion he don't play (from his heart) anymore. It kind of feels that well I'm in the lineup which means that I have to run a litle bit, then go home and listen some of my favorit songs from Celine Dion's last album and then I can play PS3...

Arman Qaramyan- NO COMMENTS...

You're a little unfair towards Manu. I don't recall him ever not showing up for Armenia, even when the FFA was exhausting him by putting him in every squad except the women's team.

its more or less the same usual lineup. We can still get an ok starting lineup with these players so long as the right 11 players are picked and we know from all the matches so far that this never happens...

About Manu, I understand what ARMENIAN ULTRAS is saying and I sort of agree. He did play quite bad against Poland, though there were still some nice touches and movements that he made which was better than what the rest of the team could do and for this reason I would still want him in the starting lineup. The way he plays for the NT is different than he plays for Ajax, but I don't think its him, I think its because of the style of play. With Ajax its quick passing, running up the field, intense football, which is what he is all about as he is trained at that level. Then he comes to the NT and for him it is like amateur football, the rest of the players are too slow to run (eg: Shahgeldyan and Nazaryan biggest examples) and by the time they move their asses, they lose possession before reaching the opponents half. This is why we don't see much from Manu at the NT games.

But with the Kazakhstan match, things might different as we should get a hell of a lot more chances and possession, so lets see what happens, if he plays the match.

Is it just me, or has Ararat Arakelyan not be in the lineup for a while? He was quite a big prospect 2-3 years ago..

I can't believe we couldn't scout for any other players. 4 to 5 players should be completely ommitted from the list all together

Hayeri dem xax chka!!!

Vahe Tadevosyan was going to get called up but he got injured.

as for Manu, I don't think anyone but himself knows whether he's injured or not lol.

Porterfield shuffles Armenia pack

Thursday, 24 May 2007
by Khachik Chakhoyan from Yerevan

Injuries and suspensions have prompted Armenia coach Ian Porterfield to invite two newcomers to the squad for the games against Kazakhstan and Poland.

New faces
With regular starters Romik Khachatryan and Levon Pachajyan both suspended for the UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifier against Kazakhstan on 2 June, FC Ararat defender Vahagn Minasyan and FC Banants defender Ararat Arakelyan may yet be drafted into the team. CSF Zimbru Chisinau's Karen Aleksanyan misses out on the squad through injury while there is no place for FC Illychivets Mariupil forward Ara Hakobyan. Armenia are currently bottom of qualifying Group A with just one point from five games.

Armenia squad
Goalkeepers: Roman Berezovski (FC Khimki), Gevorg Kasparov (FC Pas).

Defenders: Robert Arzumanyan (FC Pyunik), Karen Dokhoyan (no club), Sargis Hovsepyan (FC Pyunik), Valery Aleksanyan (FC Pyunik), Aleksander Tadevosyan (FC Bargh), Yegishe Melikyan (FC Banants), Vahagn Minasyan (FC Ararat), Ararat Arakelyan (FC Banants).

Midfielders: Agvan Mkrtchyan (FC Bargh), Hamlet Mkhitaryan (FC Pas), Romik Khachatryan (AFC Unirea Valahorum Urziceni), Artavazd Karamyan (FCU Politehnica Timisoara), Levon Pachajyan (FC Pyunik), Rafael Nazaryan (FC Pyunik), Artur Minasyan (FC Ararat), Samvel Melkonyan (FC Banants).

Forwards: Arman Karamyan (FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt), Armen Shahgeldyan (FC Mika), Aram Hakobyan (FC Illychivets Mariupil), Edgar Manucharyan (AFC Ajax), Robert Zebelyan (FC Kuban Krasnodar).

yeah i mean i heard the commentator say Arman and Artavazd Karamyan, Galust Petrosyan, Ara Hakobyan and Edgar Manucharyan. I don't know if some of these players were subbed in for each other, but thats like 4 strikers. Was it Manu that did the long pass which led to the goal? If so, he must have been playing in midfield. The attacking looked alright, but i don't know about the defence because we did let in 3 goals as well.

I think it was Manu, but I'm not sure...
