ECQ 2008: Armenia - Finland October 7 2006

Well guys, now that game 1 is over, we should start looking towards the second game which comes up in about a month. No point in thinking about the past when the future is more important...

My prediction:

if everyone plays: Armenia 2-2 Finland.

if same line up as today: Armenia 0-2 Finland.

Finland has a very physical squad, with lots of size, its going to be hard to contain them, especially on set pieces, but im hoping for the best as well if we get a full team in time for that. who knows what will happen though, hopefully not getting blown out by Belgium is a positive thing and thats what it seems, because we had good possession of the ball and didnt just sit on defense waiting to counterattack and not making much of it as it was against holland and the czechs, although 0-1 losses we were clearly dominated, today's game seems to have been different though.

well, lets think about it this way. it cant be worse then last campaigns start. 0-3 to macedonia. 0-1 to belgium is a much better start.

Hello guys,

how would you predict Armenia to play against Finland in home? What's the game plan of your team? Do they concentrate on defence or try to be an active home team?

This match will be different from the earlier matches for Finland. Now Finland isn't the challenger but the group leader. It will be difficult if your team is going to be very defensive.

agreed.

i think porterfield isn't going to have us sitting around trying to defend the entire time. i think he should put 2-3 attackers up front. possibly two in the beginning and then if were behind later in the game add a third. either way, we wont really be a challenge to u unless our regulars come back.

Finland beating Poland says alot for their team. I think it's going to be hard game, but we are at home. I'm sick of saying that we will be close in the score, but we will loose. I hope, Porterfield will have enough time, to have the good team together and there won't be any slackers who value themselves higher then the team. In that case, I think there will be a good chance for a tie and why not a win.

now that we know who is invited, lets put down who we would like to see in the starting 11...

--------------------------Bete--------------------------

------Bilibio-----Arzumanyan------Dokhoyan------Melikyan-----

----Grigoryan---Karamyan(Arman)----Aleksanyan---Melkonyan----

--------------Hakobyan(Ara)----Manucharyan--------------

Stec, if H1 shows the match, do you think you can record it?

I have a good feeling about this match.

Either: Finland 1-2 Armenia
or Finland 2-3 Armenia

were gonna shock the shit out of everyone.
