Armenia coach shown the door
Reuters

Dutchman Henk Wisman has been sacked as head coach of the Armenia national side, with officials from the football federation adding no more details of the dismissal.

Wisman took over from Frenchman Bernard Casoni in May last year and under his leadership, the Caucasus nation's World Cup qualifying campaign proved a disappointment, with just two Group One victories over Andorra leaving them sixth in the standings.

The Dutchman, who also coaches Armenian champions Pyunik Yerevan, leaves a few months before his contract was due to expire in July.

very surprising and unexpected to say the least, and yeah i have to agree, we change coaches way too much, i dont understand how they expect to get a better team if they keep getting new coaches who all have different strategies which take quite a while to drill into the players, its like you are back at step one each time. quite frustrating. i hope they have someone competent in mind and ready to take over and this doesnt take half a year or so.

why do i get the feeling that the FFA keeps putting the blame on the coach every time. Do they not realize that part of the problem might be the actual players ??? Even if we got the best coach in the world, I don't think it would make us that much better.

I agree 100%, It doesn't matter who the coach is, if we keep changing coaches we will never win a damn game. And you guys can forget about making any good result in the EURO Qual. DO they at least have someone ready to take the role before they got rid of Henk. Cause all that wait to see who the new coach is can't be good on the training of our players.

If we don't get a new guy in time I think Samwel Petrosyan would make a good coach for us, he knows the players, has great motivation and has a good over all tactical play.

Maybe a good coach could not resolve the situation ( our players are not football stars!), but could be the first step to build a solid and strong NT

We had a good coach (Oscar lopez) then another good coach (Mihail Stoychia) and we lost both to get Bernard casoni....he didn't last. NOw we are losing Wisman, wisman was buliding a good NT. Now they are gonna get another idiot and we will be F*cked. This time FFA should put down some serious cash and get a superstar coach.

*I nominate Sergio MArkarian for the next Armenian NT coach.*

YEAH, any min. now Van Basten, Rafael Banitez, and Juan Ramon Lopez Caro are taking the first plane to Yerevan to become our next coach.
HAHHAHAHAHHA!

insted well get some guy...."Adalphus Ramius", from some weird country who was fired from his job coaching a 3rd division team. The first thing out of his mouth in the Press conferance will be "I am very happy to have the chance to coach this countries NT....ummm, where am I again?", Then we lose every game 3-0 IF WERE LUCKY.
