CL Matchday 1: Internazionale vs Trabzonspor

INTERNAZIONALE vs TRABZONSPOR
At the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Milan, Italy
Wednesday, 14th of September - 21:45 Turkish time

After being knocked out of the Champions League qualifiers against Benfica, they are now facing Inter Milan in the group stages.

Really hard to predict what the starting eleven will be, even harder to predict if the newer Trabzon is capable of getting anything in this match. Inter are a great side and Trabzon have looked incredibly shaky in their last match.

I predict a win for Inter Milan.

Match Odds (Bwin)

Inter 1.35 / Draw 4.75 / Trabzon 8.25

I'm predicting this and any other post you make in this thread gets deleted. You're not playing in the CL this season. Get over it.

Meh, I'm just saving myself the trouble of a pointless argument.

Anyways, it's an extremely difficult debut fixture. A loss would not surpise me at all, as I don't trust this defense against ANY European team let alone one of the elite, but I think we will get a few chances to do some damage up front.

Most likely a loss but I think we will keep it respectable

I predict a 2-0 loss for Trabzon. Inter will play defensive because every Italian team does. So Trabzon might have a chance. 2-0 or 1-1. 1-1 will be really surprising.

Guys, your feelings towards Trabzonspor aside, just keep in mind that Waya is one of the nicest people on XT, so don't be dicks.

I know he hates me but accept my apologies. I'll stay away from this forum but believe me I'd be laughing at any Turkish team in CL BECAUSE of what we've all been through. Trabzon is no worse off than any other team.

Thanks Tolga, and no I don't hate any of you. At the end of the day, we're discussing football over the internet. :smileani:

Honestly, I don't mind if you root against Trabzon. Obviously, you're passionate about your team, and we're playing a game which Fenerbahce was supposed to be playing. Its not the way I would have wanted it (I always hope for the most possible Turkish teams in Europe as possible), but what else can I do but support my team and pray we can represent Turkiye in a respectable fashion.

At the same time, though, I'd be lying if I said the anti-Trabzon comments didn't annoy me a bit, as they would any fan who's team is insulted. But what's the point of arguing? I won't change anybody's opinion on something, and they won't change mine.

This is funny considering Inter look like being one of the most offensive teams for a long time.

Adrian should be back though.

The foreigner rule doesn't apply in European competitions. So this is what the team should be imo:

Marek Sapara - Paulo Henrique - Volkan Sen
Adrian Mierzejewski
Gustavo Colman - Didier Zokora
Marek Cech - Arkadiusz Glowacki - Mustafa Yumlu - Ondrej Celustka
Tolga Zengin

I'm still sour that Trabzon is in the CL, however, at this point I hope they do get a few points here and there. I'm sure that at the end of the investigation all will be clear and if Trabzon did not deserve to be here then they will be punished for it as well.

In the meantime, I think I'll check out the game and even though I want Trabzon to loose, I would not mind if they won either. Win/Win situation either way. Also, Trabzon has not been here for a while in the group stages(they are not good enough or they are not good at bribing) so I'm sure they will do much better than Bursa last year. I think we all can expect guys like Zokora and some others who have more high level exerience to do well.

All in all, I do hope that they make it out of the group. At least then we all won't feel to bitter that a shit team like last years Bursa represented Turkey.

I don't want Trabzon to lose. Except the fact that I have no respect whatsoever for Sadri Sener in particular amongst many others. This guy is worse than the Mehmet Yildiz + Bulent Uygun duo that almost won the championship many years back.

Adrian is still suspended as well... He got a two match suspension after the redcard against Benfica, and we've only played one match since then (the first leg against Bilbao)
