STSL Week 1: Ankaragucu - Trabzonspor

So our first game is against Ankaragucu. We'll have to set a strong precedent if we want to even put up a fight against Liverpool.

It should be interesting to see if Teofilo gets the start again after his hattrick in the super cup, and also if we see newly transferred Jaja play.

Reasonably tough game first up but hopefully a win + a nice performance to bring some confidence into the Liverpool match.

Will be interesting to see who Senol Gunes opts for in the striking position tonight and at Anfield as I think the rest of the team is reasonably settled for now.

Thanks for the support brother.

Anyways, I'm seeing two different expected 11's floating around.

Onur, Serkan , Glowacki, Egemen, Cale, Burak (Yattara), Ceyhun, Selçuk, Colman, Alanzinho, Teofilo

or

Onur, Serkan, Glowacki, Egemen, Cale, Ceyhun, Selçuk, Colman, Alanzinho, Umut, Teofilo

Honestly, I'd rather go with the 1 striker formation for now, and not go crazy with things that we haven't practiced in pre-season. And hopefully Ceyhun won't start, but he probably will. He congests the middle, and just seems kind of redundant to me. I don't know who the genius was that proposed this kid play midfield, but he has the perfect body and skillset to be a central defender. He even played there for the Umit Milli Takim.. Also it seems that minor hand injury might keep Yattara out of the lineup again.

And.. A beautiful new trapzone mix to kick off the new season. Got me very pumped up

im watching,

I'm still trying to understand why Trabzon feels they can have the Turkish emblem on their kits when technically you're not supposed to unless you win the league.

Trabzonspor has pretty much dominated. Yattara is just class.

They've had it regardless of those. Every year they have it, it just disregards the whole thing.

I think this is their first time I've know they have had those emblems. As far as I know only two Turkish teams can are allowed to use them every year and no other teams can.

Last year I think only besiktas had donned the emblems.

Another 0-0 on opening weekend? Most of these teams seem too tense and not ready fitness wise.

2-0, very good win. Teofilo with the goals again, two tap-ins Umut played a big role in both also. Maybe they can coexist after all. Colman also set up both goals with his signature through balls

We basically controlled the game and had all the possession but the attacking chances were few and far between in the first half, oddly enough. Second half, the tempo slowed but our attack improved with Yattara in. We saw some vintage "Yattara Show" The guy is so fun to watch when hes in form. You can feel the anticipation building whenever he gets the ball on that wing.

Our centerbacks looked very good. If these past two games are indicative of how Glowacki usually plays I think we've made a very good transfer.

The Trabzon of this year looks a lot better than last year. The 2 forward system is great
