Summer Signing #1: Arkadiusz Glowacki

(actually the second, as we've signed a back-up keeper)

Anyway, we've signed experienced Polish center-back Glowacki, as news has been about that we won't be renewing Song's contract. He's been on Wisla Krakow since 2000 and has 21 caps for Poland.

Seems like a good signing. Apparently he was chosen as the best defender of the Polish league in 2009

That does indeed sounds very promising for this 31-year old youngster! What an accomplishment to be called out as the best Polish defender in 2009 at that tender age

I am Polish, therefore I can answer on that. He's very classy for a Polish player, but I'm surprised they transferred him when he's 31. He could have gone a couple of years earlier. Anyway, he's very calm, commanding, and he's very good with the ball, can also perform free-kicks. He's the closest thing to Lucas Neill you could get from a Polish player.

I remember watching him at the Euros though, although not that I remember if I were being all too impressed or not. As long as he doesn't have a shot fuse and a crazy personality then there is no reason as to why he shouldn't succeed.

You reckon he could form a good partnership with Egemen?

If he really is crazy, then I think he and Egemen will set the record for most legs broken by a center back partnership

Seriously where do people get the idea that the Turkish league is full of butcher legbreakers.

Go take a look at the Belgian league, they literally break legs there. Turkey is a refined technical masterpiece in comparisation to that.

Now that's legbreaking!
