Turkish Cup thread

All match previews, views and reviews should be on this thread.

Trabzon was hammered 3-1 against Gaziantep today. Apparently Gaziantep gave a superb performance.

Best picture I could find on the damned net. :rollani:

I managed to watch the last 30 minutes of the match on the net and I have to admit TS did not look good. Gazientep had most possession of the ball and looked the much better team.

I hope things pick up for TS very soon. After such a good start to the season, it seems a shame if they do downhill now.

I hope so too Jo-Ann, I am rooting Trabzon to become champions this year.

Although I didn't know the match was broadcast, I spent a while looking for a stream for no avail.

I didn't realise either until someone on another forum gave out a link...so I managed the last half an hour. I obviously didn't bring much luck to them though!

Ersun Yanal's side is doing what they do best, start impressive and start to falter.

Damn, sounds like Gaziantep just wanted it more. We need to get back to winning, and soon

Umut needs to be sold ASAP, no technique and too much wind resistance with those ears.

Well it's 1-1 now, the game is pretty even actually but Besiktas scored off of Sylva's mistake cause he couldn't hold onto to the shot and the rebound was slid in by Bobo.

Damn 90th min and a goal, great buildup by Besiktas though Tello to Bobo who crossed in perfect for Zapotocny to head it in. Tough loss man.

Pretty nice game today vs Antalyaspor. It was back and forth the whole game and in the end a 3-3 tie that sees Trabzon out of the cup.

Antalyaspor 3 - 3 Trabzonspor

3' Ceyhun Gürselam (Trabzonspor 0-1)
25' Pacome Dijehoua (Antalyaspor 1-1)
57' Ahmet Kuru (Antalyaspor 2-1)
77' Hakan Özmert (own goal) (Trabzonspor 2-2)
84' Ceyhun Gürselam (Trabzonspor 2-3)
93' Hakan Özmert (Antalyaspor 3-3)

I saw the game, didnt bother to post about it though. I figured we were already pretty much out of the cup being down 6 points to both BJK and Gaziantep. Anyway, it was a good experience for some of the bench players. Im confident we would have won had we played guys like Yattara, Song, Sylva, and Selcuk.

Why wasn't Selcuk playing today? Is he injured or were they just resting him?

He was being rested along with the other top players on the team. This was pretty much a game for the younger kids and bench players to showcase themselves.

I believe we play our last match tomorrow against Gaziantep B.S.B. Very excited to see the likes of Baris, Goksu, Isaac, Faty, Onur, Ceyhun, Giray, etc, etc play. I hope they start since it is a pointless match at this point, but I doubt all of them will.

trapzone made this video summing up the youth on our team and some of their plays in our last friendly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfb6gtmV0g4

very cool, we're tied for 1st and have an average age of around 22-23. Cant wait to see how this team will be in 3-4 years.
