Yattara gets Turkish citizenship

About time. His Turkish name: Ibrahim!

--------------------------------

His full name will be Ibrahim Yattara Ucuncu from what I heard in Ligtv. Borrowing the last name from his mate in Trabzon (Hasan Ucuncu)

Fenerbahce pressured Yattara to get this citizenship.... he's going to be at Fenerbahce next season.

So good to see someone get it both legitimately and deservingly. He's been here for long enough and he speaks better Turkish than some of the Turkish players (particularly the ones who came from Germany ).

Congratulations to him

Congrats to him. Does this mean he'll get called up to the national team?

Amazing player, I think he should.

I think it's a good idea to give Turkish passport to whomever born with a Turkish parent, then, after one season to test his Turkish skills and decide whether to qualify him as Turkish or foreigner in the league.
If you don't have Turkish blood, you have to take writing and reading exams and that's why Alex doesn't want to apply....

Ahmed Hassan's Turkish though not as good as Ayman's was very impressive as well.

One thing I don't understand is why they have to change their names, that is just plain stupid. Especially in the case of Ibrahima, does that extra A at the end of his name mean that much? Why take it away? I swear our people are strange sometimes.

I guess if your name is Ibrahima you can't be Turkish but if you change it to Ibrahim you're good to go. Ridiculous.

it is an absolutely ridiculous rule but its part of earning Turkish citizenship
anyway regarding Ahmed Hassan, I know this is getting off topic but we should have never ever let that guy go, he was a great player, true professional and a leader,

and Cenk i dont know about you but i couldnt stand having more than one foreigner on our milli takim, even with Aurelio as good as he is I see him as a kind of scab, hes just there temporarily until we can find someone better to replace him

Man, we always get mad with foreigners for calling us fascist, but we are the country that won't let citizens have non-turkish names

Imagine if we were forced to change our names to John Smith to become Canadian citizens....
