Turkish Cup 06-07

Our first cup match, against V.Manispor, will definitely be our hardest of the group. And unfortunately its tomorrow, a few days after we were embarassed by Gencler.

We have a very difficult group, with Ankaraspor, Manisa, Konya, and Eskisehir.

1-1 at HT. We dominated the first 25 minutes, but really lost it after they equalized. And their goal was ridiculous, a blunder in defense

Oh yeah, Musa Buyuk is an embarassment.

1-1 FT.

We could have easily taken this one, with the chances we were producing at the end. Musampa changed our game, but Ziya didnt use the other two subs.. Ersen Martin's useful in the air, but hes too slow and is useless on counter-attacks. Umut is quick, strong, and he has a great shot. He should get more time.

Musa Buyuk produced some great attacks, but hes shit on the defensive end. He should come off the bench for a winger. Gokdeniz was easily MoM. He was everywhere today. Jefferson was also great/

Not a bad result considering its against the league leaders in their own stadium, but we could have gotten so much more.

Marcelinho is a tactless moron. Could he have slammed down his shirt harder?!

You guys had an unlucky game but a draw away against Vestel isn't bad

He was really pissed about being taken out. I think he's trying too hard to be the team's leader. Some moments he shows flashes of brilliance, and some he does something really stupid.

I think Ziya should try playing Musampa in the middle, maybe alongside Marce or in DM even. It'll lessen Marcelinho's load.

We play EsEs tomorrow.

Of course im hoping for a win, but we shouldnt underestimate them. They're as good as any of our last few opponents as far as I'm concerned.

Anyway, a result here would give us some MUCH needed morale. Please! 3 points!

We're coming to kick your ASSES !!! lol j/k a win here is impossible for my Eskisehir, we will go for the draw and still no coach at helm. I'm just happy as fukk that the game will be on DFH!! It's gonna feel weird.

What no posts about the game yet?
Well I can't comment because I didn't see it but I looked on the Trabzon website for details of the game. 5-2 a brilliant score so they obviously played well Cagdas was not in the first 11 or even on the bench but I saw him in the pic of them running around the pitch, I assume before the game. Maybe he picked up an injury then

I was surprised Cagdas didnt start. He used a very strange defense. It looked like Murat Ocak was playing CB with Fatih. They made some dumb mistakes, but thats it.

Anyway, a very enjoyable game. Eskisehir were dangerous early on, and were the better team for large chunks of the first half. Btw, I dont remember the last time we scored the first goal in a game.. It gives me a headache waiting for an equalizer.

Musampa finally started for us, and he didnt dissapoint. He helped Marcelinho with the load in central-mid, who was also solid. Our attack in general looked very good, especially after Gokdeniz came in, who was MoM for me.

In attack, Umut worked his ass off and scored two, assisted one. He couldve had 3, but who cares? Meanwhile, Ersen continued his goal-drought. Post-game he said his broken nose has been keeping him hesitant from going for headers. Cem was subbed off after only 20-something minutes.

3' 0-1 İshak, Assist: Serkan

38' 2-1 Feridun, Assist: Musampa
39' 2-2 Mehmet, Assist: Ishak
48' 3-2 Gokdeniz, Assist: Umut
51' 4-2 Marcelinho (p), drawn by Gokdeniz
73' 5-2 Umut, Assist: Gokdeniz

Good pics. The Trabzonspor website never fails with it's pics
As for the game, it's good that Trabzon were not put off by that first goal after only 3 minutes. At least we know that if opponents score first, it doesn't mean it is the end for them! As for Ersen Martin playing with a broken nose, I don't blame him for being hesitant about going for headers. I am surprised is doesn't hurt everytime he runs about the pitch!

Oh well, another game at the weekend. Hopefully Cagdas will play then. I still can't understand why he wasn't even on the bench

I saw Stepanov on the bench, and hes higher on the pecking order. Ziya probably figured it silly to have two CBs there.

In case Cagdas doesnt break into the starting line-up, maybe I can interest you in a picture of..umm.. Wow.. we dont have many lookers on the squad, do we?

The guy in your avatar?

Maybe Trabzon will make a move for him during the winter break. God knows we need a right-back..

Yes, Ali Güneş (no comments about him looking gay in my avatar, that argument has been done! p )

Funny you should say about him joining Trabzon, I read that Trabzon might be interested in him....okay, it's only rumours but well, you never know, stranger things have happened. He has been injured for most of this season so far but hopefully he will be fully fit again soon

Our Turkish Cup campaign continues tomorrow against Ankaraspor, who we just beat 3-0 last weekend.

If we win this, we'd be looking good for a spot in the Quarter-finals. Hopefully Umut will net another, hes scored in three straight matches thus far

EDIT: Actually, I think we're guaranteed a spot if we win tomorrow. Correct me if im wrong.

Good luck to Trabzonspor. I hope the result will be the same as it was against Ankaraspor last Sunday.....the same scorers would be nice too! :smileani:
