Trabzonspor pre-season matches

Are the Swiss still trying to antagonize the Turks

Foul smell and foul play for Trabzon

Trabzonspor played one of their most interesting friendly matches to date against Swiss 2nd division team FC Winterthur during their German camp for next season, barely managing a goalless draw. The players held their noses in disgust as a pungent manure smell emanating from the pitch filled the air. Some even resorted to masking their noses with their shirts in the vain hope of disguising the scent. As wafts of manure threatened to overpower the players, disputed referee calls led to bickering, with Hüseyin Şimşir in particular refusing to get off the referee's back. Şimşir, who received a yellow card early on in the game was finally taken out of the game by coach Lazaroni to put an end to the masquerade. Şimşir initially refused to leave the pitch but finally walked to the bench quietly moaning to himself. The bizarre game, however, will probably be mostly remembered for its unmistakable odor rather than the shenanigans on the pitch.

We won 3-1 today.

We didnt play that great, but exceptional i suppose. Lazaroni gave everyone a chance to play, using two different lineups for each half. Gokdeniz scored the first, typical goal for him, rebounding on his own shot.

Szymek found youth striker Ergin Keles on a break-away for the second, and new transfer Cem Demir scored the third, but it was practically spoon-fed to him by Yattara who weaved through their right side before the assist. Demir DID hit the bar from 35 yards though, hope to see more of that from him

Umut was hesitant to take shots, but he did assist Gokdeniz's goal. Cagdas did alright.. Im hoping he and Stepanov and him will be our center backs for next season.

Interesting things going on at TS these days. If reports are to be believed, the new manager is not a fan of Szymek and might allow him to leave. And Tomas Jun apparently threw a small tantrum in practice the other day after receiving a hard tackle and not getting any attention from teammates.

We beat Austria Lustenau 2-0 yesterday. Omer Riza and Cem Demir scored.

Good news: We're not having much trouble finding the net with Fatih out which really hurt us last season. Also, Cem Demir is showing great form with the little time hes getting

Bad news: Fatih Akyel was injured during the match. Ufukhan was subbed in for him and he was also injured! :frustrat: Fatih A. is out for at least a month.

We won 1-0, header from Cagdas from a Yattara corner.

But we couldve ended with 3 or 4 with the amount of chances Yattara was creating, You're right, Dale, he was great.

Stepanov limped off the field when he was subbed out, it better not be ANOTHER injury!

Cagdas goal was classy. Yattara's corner was so sweet.

Any new update about Stepanov injury ?

It's not that bad. In one week - 10 days he can start training with the team again, and in two weeks he'll be able to play matches.

Yattara crisis for Trabzonspor

Trabzonspor player İbrahima Yattara from Guinea was in top trouble-maker mode when he caused a last minute panic at the Munich airport. Trabzonspor were set to return home after a three-week training camp in Germany, when Yattara realized he had lost his Turkish resident permit at passport control. The officials refused to let him board the plane, but a hasty fax from Istanbul eventually solved the crisis. The Guinean player had already caused a one-hour delay for the team on their way to Germany when he decided to start the team bus, crashing it into a wall. Yattara was also previously fined by the club for missing the bus to the airport.

Well, this could end up building some team chemistry if Yattara handles it maturely
