that's awful...I read his autobiography only a few months ago, very intelligent and honest guy and a dedicated family man...

yeah it's a good read his book. Ive met him a couple times as I live near Northampton and used to go to the Cobblers a bit. Was a very nice bloke.

From whats been said this afternoon he's stable but in a very poor condition. Good luck to the guy, one of football's good guys. Understood the role football has in the community and sought to improve that. What a poor time of year for a man with a young family as well.

was wondering if that's the case as he admitted in his book he's tried suicide before, has always suffered from depression and his financial situation was pretty bad too...

well at least he stayed alive without suffering major health damage and will go on battling with his life...you got to wonder about life really, how some people are just wired so differently than others.

Caught a bit of his interview on the radio earlier. Depression and any mental health issues are a horrible thing that can make a person do the stupidest things? Good luck to the guy, I hope he gets the right help and people around him to get into a better place.

Bad few days for him, loses his £100k a year ITV Contract, get's done for drink driving, loses a wad of cash in the Casino then considers which option best to kill himself and it doesn't work.

Hopefully he can get his life back on track and another network will give him an opportunity.

Who would say such a well spoken nice guy like him would have such issues eh? Speed immediately came to mind as well as I was reading that article.

Well he was very open about it all in his book and also presented a documentary about footballers with depression where he talked about his struggles with it. He's a guy who has also set very high standards for himself so in this case it was his inability once again to measure up to these which led to it.
