*Official Reading Football Club Thread*

Hey all,

Look who's been invited back to the party p

Being in the premiership and then coming back really brings it home how little is paid by the teams in the top division to the lower league and that in itself is a real shame.

Last season, we forgot what we were and all the hard work we did in the championship and came unstuck with alot of players believing the hype.

Lets hope we can do ourself proud once again, the future begins now.

It should be a big season in the football leagues, lessons learnt and hopefully at the very least a season of hard work.

I can see you going straight back up to be honest.

Unlike Derby, who are destined for mid-table. Whatever their fans say.

John Oster, Ulises De La Cruz and Graham Stack among the players released in the last day with Duberry and Little offered new deals.

The changes have begun.

He was a steady reliable pro, the general feeling he should have played this year after Shorey went missing for the most part.

Will be remembered for his Maradona-esqe goal against an awful Sheffield United side in 07/08.

Forest tomorrow, game one back in the Championship.

It's been a strange summer in the regard that so many of our players had been linked with moves back to the prem, it was only 2 years or so years ago nobody had a clue about us and our playing squad.. oh to go back to that

It will certainly be a test tomorrow.

Birmingham will win the title.

Whats funny how utterly shit the crowd is... Youd have thought that the Forest fans would actually get into it considering its their first game back at this level for 3 years.. but you can actually hear the players talking to eachother.

Come on Reading!

Why did Paul Smith have to extend his arm

It looks like we will need at least 3 games to get to speed with things aswell as needing to bring in a recognised LB and RM (Kebe is just crap!)

That save was amazing really, thought it was bang on that header going in but he pulled it out of the hat.

Think Reading will be fine for promotion, Forest mid-table.

How can you say that based on the first game, Forest imo were the better side and if we had a strike force, the result would have been different! There are much better sides than Forest in this league and I think Reading seriously need to up their game if they are going to get promoted.

You were better, but bare in mind you packed the midfield and it was a number's game.

For all your position you never troubled us, it's all well have a proven player like Earnie but when he has no decent service it is not going to matter. At times he was having to come deep so it was 4-6-0 for alot of the time.

As for us, it was game one back at a level we havent been at for 2 years with a weaker squad and we still don't know what personnel we are going to be left with for another 3 weeks.

It will take us this month to get ready and to address a couple of areas, its all well having the pre season but you cant measure your team until the competitive action starts and it shows we need a battler in the middle like Siddy was in 05/06, a recognised LB and a RM then I feel we would be complete.

I do hope so be nice to get another win against him, got a good record against him.

After their bashing at leeds and our cup win added with the fact we now can deploy Hunt at left win again after signing Armstrong I am hoping for a win and more importantly a striker influenced win (no striker has scored for us in the league so far this season)
