Sunderland and Derby are almost certain. I don't care which is the third one, as long as it's not Birmingham.

Love is the drug, and I'm a junkie.

I'm hoping Birmingham will be able to pull it off. Few teams are as entertaining to watch as them. It's a shame their form has dropped so much, but with a point today they can still do it themselves. Some really tough matches left though.

I love Birmingham's football too, but then I also enjoy dangling my testicles in piranha tanks.

sadly they and their rubbish manager will just edge their way to promotion despite spending a ridiculous amount of money for a non-premiership club in the summer. Sunderland should join them.

got a feeling that Wolves might scrape through in the Playoffs

I really don't want Sunderland to go up though i think they will, just because i hate them and their fans (don't we all?). I think the other one will be Birmingham automatic and West Brom will win play-offs... Sorry Jimbo, i hope i'm wrong!

Sunderland, Brum and ... Stoke.

We've blown it, and Brum seem to have hit a bit of form, we need someone to do us a big favour, but even then we'll probably lose at least 1 of the last 3

As for the play offs, it's hard enough trying to pick the 4 teams that will be in it...apart from 1 of Derby and Brum, the other 3 could still go to to anyone down to Colchester, Cardiff are out of it now. All of them teams are inconsistent so anything could happen, but i fancy Stoke to do a Watford.

It's a shame that Southampton wont, not that I support them (not at all, their football sucks), but because their stadium is a handy location to watch visiting Premiership teams.

I think Sunderland, Derby and Birmingham get promoted. You'll get your form back, jimbo. Or maybe my views are misty-eyed these days.

The team who finishes 3rd will be so gutted about missing out on promotion they'll flop badly in the play offs, it always happens

isnt that a bit of a myth now?

05-06 - Watford - 3rd
04-05 - West Ham - 6th
03-04 - Palace - 6th
02-03 - Wolves - 5th
01-02 - Birmingham - 5th
00-01 - Bolton - 3rd
99-00 - Ipswich - 3rd

so 4th is the bogey position now (the last team to finish there and get promoted was Charlton in 97-98)

Depends on how they've finished 3rd, if it's miles behind 2nd place it doesn't really make a diference does it, but when it's a 3 team race like when Sunderland and Wigan went up and Ipswich pushed them all the way, it was obvious they would lose straight away in the play offs.

Watford might have finished 3rd last season, but they were never in contention for automatic promotion really.

God don't remind me!! That was totally ridiculous, us three were miles ahead of everyone else and we were just pipped at the post. Then West Ham go up after finishing i think it was 14 points behind us. Play-offs are stupid, where's the fairness??

Only fair way is like how they do in rugby league, 6th plays 5th, winner plays 4th, winner plays 3rd. 3rd go straight to final. Though i still think play-offs are a complete waste of time.

Ipswich and Bolton were still in the race for automatic promotion in their playoff years but kept their nerves. (maybe thru drink and pies respectively). as you said Ipswich and most dramatically Wolves have screwed it up since then

Well we can finish 3rd, 4th, 5 th or 6th, we'll still f**k it up in the play offs, same goes for Preston.
