Kev hoping to renew 'Special K' strikeforce
KEVIN Phillips is chomping at the bit to pick up where he left off with
strike partner and Powerade's Player of the Month for October Diomansy
But Phillips admits he's got a fight on his hands to get past the Senegal
pace ace's current side-kick, Nathan Ellington.
The last time the duo started together they ran riot in a 5-1 romp at
Ipswich, with 'Super Kev' bagging a hat-trick and 'Joe' netting a double.
But a training ground calf injury sidelined Phillips for the next four games
and, after returning to fitness, he has been restricted to two substitute

"When I have played alongside Joe I've seen he's an intelligent player.
"He's good on the ball and, for me, it's a massive bonus to play alongside
Five-goal Phillips has also set his sights on out-gunning Kamara and

"I didn't know much about Joe before I came to West Brom," Phillips added.
"I'd played against him a couple of times and seen what he could do.
"Now working with him day in, day out I can see what an excellent technical
player he is.
"He's a good finisher and we're all delighted he's having such a good
"He's got eight goals and I've got five so it's a good competition to see
who can finish top scorer at the end of the season.
"I've got some catching up to do, which I'm looking forward to."
