24/08/2006 Leyton Orient v West Brom(CCC)

First round of the cup for us this year.

We've got Orient away. I saw us play there several times in the bad old days of the 90's when we were struggling in the league.

However this is a game we surely cant lose. No disrespect to Orient but with the quality of players we have it should be one sided.

Its live on Sky for those that can see it , KO 19:45.

(closely followed on Bank Holiday Monday by our Away game to Sunderland thats also live on Sky at 15:00)

Nicholson played much better after scoring, he really needed that confidence booster.

Zubi looks a liability most the time, god he makes me nervous watching him.

Davies and McShane were both very good last night, Davies was given the Sky MotM award.

Carter played left wing and was a waste of space, apart from the goal, and boy what a goal that was!!! The keeper would have been in hospital if hed got anywhere near that.

Greenings goal was a lucky skim shot that went underneath the keeper. But as they say you have to shoot in order to score, so fair enough to him.

Hartson came on for Phillips but didn't do much apart from give away foul after foul. Phillips looked just what we needed up front, a sharp mind and good control. I have a fancy that he and Hartson could give us a very decent attack, with the pace of Nicholson coming on at the end to run an already ragged defence even more.

I wish some other new guys would be given a chance also, Nardiello, Hodgkiss or Sissoko, maybe he has some of his brothers talent
