*OFFICIAL* COVENTRY CITY THREAD
'Operation Premiership', the sky blues' three-year plan to get back into the top flight, has begun with the following transfers:
Elliot Ward (West Ham - £1m)
David McNamee (Livingston - £100,000)
Jay Tabb (Brentford - undisclosed)
Colin Cameron (Wolves - free)
Mikkel Bischoff (Man City - free)
Wayne Andrews (Crystal Palace - free)
Andy Marshall (Millwall - free)
Generally I am quite happy with these signings. Ward, McNamee, Tabb and Bischoff are all relatively young and show good potential. Ward and Bischoff in particular are both very promising centre backs and that is an area we definitely needed to improve in. I also think Cameron will provide some valuable experience. At 33 he is on the old side but Adams showed last season that signing players of this age and even older can work to good effect (Wise & Hutchison). The two signings I am not convinced by are Andrews and Marshall. Andrews scored 1 goal in 33 games for Palace last season, a very poor return for a striker, even if he did spend a lot of time on the wings. I also heard that Andy Marshall was a bit of a liability for Millwall last season. We could definitely use another quality keeper, especially as it seems Fulop won't be around.
What does everyone else think? Are you impressed by 'Operation Premiership'??
