Good question!

The fans are, it remians to be seen if the manager is.

I think Gera will shine and cause huge problems, Routledge isn't going to be able to get forward too much with Greening on his flank, if he does you'll lose.

You've got quite a big team so I can see us getting out muscled again
Dowie will probably stick with 4-5-1 but maybe make a change or two

Koumas is just not interested at the moment, too wishy washy, and he doesn't track back, so GM doesn;t pick him. Gera is the better player IMO.

I was offered tickets(2) in the Palace end but I wouldn't be able to keep my gob shut when we scored.

I got no chance of getting away tickets.

Mind you £36 a ticket :eekani:

It's a joke , but so far only Fulham haven't sold their minimum allocation

You'd probably be alright in the Palace end if you didn't get too loud, but there's always the chance some idiot will try and get you chucked out or worse

Crystal Palace v West Brom
Selhurst Park
Saturday, 23 October
Kick-off: 1500 BST

Crystal Palace are set to name an unchanged line-up as Aki Riihilahti
(bruised leg) and Fitz Hall (foot) have recovered from injuries.

Danny Butterfield (hamstring) is fit but is unlikely to feature but Nicola
Ventola (knee) is still rated doubtful.

West Brom defender Paul Robinson is in contention for a return to the
starting line-up after a knee injury.

Neil Clement and Darren Purse are banned and Robert Earnshaw must wait to
see if he gets a recall.

Crystal Palace (from): Speroni, Kiraly, Boyce, Borrowdale, Popovic,
Leigertwood, Hudson, Granville, Hall, Riihilahti, Kolkka, Hughes, Danze,
Watson, Sorondo, Routledge, Soares, Johnson, Torghelle, Kaviedes, Ventola,
Freedman, Lakis.

West Brom (from): Hoult, Haas, Moore, Gaardsoe, Albrechtsen, Gera, Johnson,
Scimeca, Greening, Horsfield, Kanu, Earnshaw, Koumas, Robinson, Contra,
Kuszczak.

BIG-MATCH FACTS

a.. CRYSTAL PALACE and West Brom meet for the first ever time in the
Premiership. It's a six pointer between the two promoted clubs, who both
picked up their first League wins of the season in their last but one
outings. Palace's came by way of a 2-0 eclipse of Fulham in their most
recent home game.

a.. The Londoners go into the match trailing Southampton on goal difference
at the foot of the table, three points worse off than their Midlands
opponents. Palace have made an inferior start to any of their three previous
Premiership campaigns, all of which ended in relegation.

a.. Palace have won six, drawn six and lost six of their 18 home League
fixtures with the Baggies, but they've not beaten them in south London in
six attempts since a 1-0 triumph on 9 March 1996 in the Nationwide First
Division.

a.. WEST BROMWICH ALBION have taken four points from the last possible six
with a home victory over Bolton and a goalless home draw against Norwich -
their first clean sheet of the season. They complete back-to-back fixtures
against promoted clubs with their 150th League game under Gary Megson, and
are anxious to gain a first Premiership victory away from the Hawthorns and
halt a three-match losing run on the road after successive defeats at
Everton, Liverpool and Newcastle.

a.. Albion had collected one more point by this identical stage in their
only previous Premiership campaign.

a.. These clubs have never met outside the League. Albion have built a 12
match unbeaten streak against their London opponents, winning seven and
drawing five since August 1996.

As Dowie will go with a 4-5-1 formation

I think we may line up
Kanu Horsfield
Greening Johnson Scimeca Gera
Robinson Gaardsoe Moore Haas
Hoult

If they just leave Andy Johnson up front then TG will probably keep
close tabs on him. Routeledge likes to press on the our left, so if
Greening can be the one doing the pressing we should have openings on
our left. Would imagine again that Koumas will be on the bench and will
come on for Gera in the 70th minute with GM saying Gera was not fit
enough or something like that.

If we are losing the midfield as they have 5 players there, we can try
and push a defender up there or sub on another mid, assuming we have one
on the bench. Rather than play 5 at the back against 1 attacker! :rollani:

The game was really bad, and it seems to be a revolt at WBA last week by the players, none of them really gave it a go, knowing that the manager would get the sack if they lost.

I hope so, football at last

Megsons comments on Sky after the game.
Various "ums" and "ahs" have been omitted and you don't get to see him scratching his nose and neck throughout, but you'll still get the jist of it:

I would imagine that's your most frustrating afternoon in the Premiership so far.

Oh, um, frustrating's is not the right word. You can only get frustrated when you play well but maybe don't win a game when you're having lots of chances. You certainly can't use that as an adjective to describe what we're feeling at the moment.

What words would you use as adjectives to describe the performance today?

You'd probably struggle showing them on the television. We've had a bad week in terms of training. We mentioned it before the game - we didn't just mention it, it was as clear as daylight what we're trying to get over. If we're going to train like we did last week, we can't expect to just turn it on and off like a tap and it followed on straight into the game.

What were the main problems then in the leadup to the match?

People not training properly. And it goes on into a game and therefore that you don't start properly. We've just been talking there that we had chances - of course we had chances, but I think Palace would be disappointed not to have been two nil up before they scored (huh??? - Finbarr). We played three centre halves to look after the runs of Johnson down the side, and we sit one in the middle of the park and match 'em up and you think that's going to get us where we want to be - and we just didn't compete.

Do you regret playing three at the back, changing things, in hindsight?

No. No, it was the right thing to do. They would have had to play a lot of balls down the channels where we had two very quick defenders who didn't play as well as they can do, we had three in the middle of the park where their three were, to match them up, we had the pace of Earnshaw, as they came on, to cause them problems at the back. And we did have chances, but if you're going to get yourself into a position where every time they get it they look like scoring it doesn't matter if you have a chance or not.

So as a manager, with everything you've said, what sanctions can you take, what can you do in order to make sure it doesn't happen again?

Well, I would say we've had worse scorelines against us, we've played badly at times, I've been here over four and a half years now and that is the most angry I've ever been with a performance, because we tried to warn people before the game that we were an accident waiting to happen unless we changed, and we didn't do, and the goals we let in were pathetic, and there's no other word for it, and you don't want to be critical of individuals but as a team we just cannot condone that. Most of our players are unproven at Premiership level yet and we've got a season to try and prove that we are Premiership and not just by virtue of getting in it and having a good First Division team, we've got to prove that we're capable of playing at Premiership level.
