I am glad that Worthy has signed a tall relatively young (in comparison with the others) central defender,

who will compete with Fleming, Charlton & Mackay for the 2 starting places in central defence.

He could become useful at set pieces too

How's the ginger Pele ( ) been doing lately?

I saw him play up front in the first few games and to my amazement he was pretty handy against Newcastle I think but since then I haven't seen him a lot. Has he been put back in defence or just been dropped?

BTW what was Bothroyd on last Saturday!?! :dielaugh: :dielaugh:

"The Doc" has been benched recently as Worthy has been playing Matty Svensson and Leon McKenzie upfront as of late (altho sometimes Doherty doesn't even make the bench now)

I reckon Worthy will use him more as a defender, at the mo he is probably the no 1 understudy to Fleming & Charlton.

and oh yeah and lol at "big Jay"

Solid signing. You got yourself a centreback, right back and a striker for the price of one!

I haven't heard that one. Maybe a new nick but I do know he was known as the "ginger Pele" back in his time at Spurs

Poor guy getting so much stick. Honest pro though. I actually heard him once say btw that he had to transfer list himself when he was playing Championship manager for Spurs cos he was so crap in the game

Ok he is isn't the best player in the world, but he brings much needed height to the backline which is important
