NEW applicants can begin applying to buy season tickets for Albion's
eagerly-awaited Premiership return from 9am today (Saturday).
Although there are set to be an unprecedented 22,000 season tickets up for
grabs, supporters are being urged to contact the East Stand box office as
soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Demand for Premiership seats, as expected, has been extremely high, with
more than 18,000 season ticket holders having already renewed for the
It means that with five weeks to go until the big kick off, the club are
well on course to eclipse the 19,100 total of season ticket holders they
boasted at the start of last term.
Albion had to introduce a 20,000-cap on season tickets last season due to FA
Cup regulations, which state each club has to make 15 per cent of their
capacity available to visiting fans.
However, due to the high demand for seats for the new top flight campaign,
Albion have undertaken steps to increase the season ticket cap to 22,000.
This has been achieved by the club pressing ahead with plans to install
extra seats in the Woodman and Millennium corners - increasing The Hawthorns' capacity to almost 29,000 - and selling up to 1,500 season tickets WITHOUT cup rights.
It means the club only have just over 2,000 season tickets left to sell WITH
cup rights, and a further 1,500 WITHOUT.
Chairman Jeremy Peace said: "Since winning promotion to the Premiership,
demand for season tickets has been extremely high.
"Therefore, we have looked at ways to make more season ticket seats
available and we're delighted we've been able to increase the number
available by 2,000.
"The fact more than 18,000 season ticket holders have already renewed is
terrific news and we look forward to their support in what promises to be an
exciting new season.
"We're expecting demand to be high for our remaining season tickets and we
would urge supporters to contact the box office at the earliest opportunity
to avoid disappointment."
