Bradford City AFC

First of all hello, to all of you here in the "Lower Leagues Forum".

Unfortunatly i started to like this Club from West Yorkshire when they managed to save themselves from relegation in First Division with a win on the last gameday a few years ago.
1-0 against Liverpool.

Obviously it would have been WAY better if they had lost 0-1 and went down again, regarding the terrible financial situation they are in now.
Everything has gone terribly wrong since that.

Hardly a week passed without reading about defeats or conceiding goals within the last 10 minutes.
Robson couldn't save the Bantams this time, but who can blame him.

Most of the squad(or all of them) have been put for sale and debts are around 36 Mio. Pounds of what i read.

A charity game has been arranged that weekend to raise money, with the great Stuart McCall on top of the list.
Of what i understand they need a 100.000 pounds as soon as possible to secure next seasons license.

The understandably low TV coverage gets me to see around 2 games a season.
Past season i only managed to see one game.
It was a thrilling 3-2 against Millwall at Valley Parade with Michael Branch scoring the winner in overtime after they overcame a 0-2 from halftime.

I doubt they can bounce back to First Division in the next few years, but i thought it wouldn't hurt anyone if i open a thread for them here.

We'll see what happens in the future...
C'mon Bantams!

Just an update for anyone Intrested - Bradford City managed to fight out off being liquidated thanks to five businessmen who are now called the steering committee. These five men got the administrators, creditors and prospective owners around the table and got them all talking again. They basically came in at the last minute when everyone was sat watching sky sports news waiting for the offical word that we'd been shut down four men appeared saying we were saved for now they later appointed a fifth member too the committee who is believed too of financed some of the rescue bid this summer paying the little bills that are needed to keep everything afloat whilst the new owner sorted out a rescue package that will be posted today or tomorrow for all intrested parties.

Bradford are now expected to leave administration in early september with all debts cleared by 2007.

Bradford 2-2 Peterborough

Bradford's Michael Symes missed a last-minute penalty to deny them the win.
City led when Nicky Summerbee's cross fell for Dean Windass, who was later stretchered off with an ankle injury, to fire home from six yards.

But Clive Platt's header squirmed under Ross Turnbull to level, before Peter Kennedy fired the visitors in front.

Bantams skipper David Wetherall headed a late equaliser, but Symes shot wide from the spot after Sagi Burton had fouled Steven Schumacher in the area.
