Le Tissier was easily Southampton's greatest player. Good enough to play at the very highest level, I think. His performance for England B against Russia B (4-1 victory, with Le Tissier scoring a hat-trick) indicated that he could make it as an international.

Le Tissier took 50 penalties, scoring 49. Mark Crossley, the man with the Premiership's best penalty-saving record, saved a penalty from 'Sir Tiss' when in goal for Forest. Still, I can't think of any player with a better penalty-taking record.

Glen: "That last post of Bastin's is just too authoritative to argue against."

gOD: "It scares the f*ck out of me but I'm with Bastin here."

Cacìni: "Ah, there you go using that absurd über-memory of your's...not fair."

Boyo: "Even when it comes to rap, Bastin is an authority."

Attila_the_Nun: "A most respected scion of Misty Albion, the illustious Bastin - the redoubtable defender of all our noble traditions."

Humbird: "Bastin is very attractive when talking nautical! "

I have the utmost respect for Le Tissier as he represented the dying playerkind that actually stays loyal to their club no matter what.
He had the talent to be playing with the biggest teams in England but refused that...and become a legend.
I just wish more players would understand that it's these players we love the most...

And if he's Saints best player ever?
That goes without saying...

I heard he actually thought about making a playing-comeback in a lower league team, anyone else heard about it?
Wouldn't be surprised if he scored a double-hattrick in his debut...in the first half...

"One time a guy handed me a picture of himself and he said. "Here's a picture of me when I was younger." Every picture of you is of when you were younger. Here's a picture of me when I'm older. How'd you pull that off? Let me see that camera."
