Ternent is giving Christiansen a trial
Burnley boss Stan Ternent is looking at Rangers keeper Jesper Christiansen to add competition for Brian Jensen.
Ternent has had just one senior goalkeeper this season and says he would like the chance to rest Jensen.
Christiansen has been training with the Clarets as Ternent considers a move for the 25-year-old Dane.
Ternent told BBC Radio Lancashire: "I do have people in pretty often on trial and if I do decide to do something about it I'll tell you the full story.
"On the other hand, if I don't do anything, or they don't want to come here, then it's unfair for them because people look at it and think he went to Burnley and they didn't want to take him.
"I'm having a look at him, but that's all at this stage."
Christiansen cost Rangers £1.7m when he joined them from Odense in October 2000.
However, he has made just six starts for the Scottish champions and has had loan spells with Danish club Vejle BK and Wolfsburg in Germany.
This is no joke!
I wan to give him a rest? Does that mean hes rubbish then?
