Craziest Estonian cup ever!

Well, there were Evald Tipner`s cup 1/4-finals on tuesday and wednesday and must say results are pretty phenomenal.
After draw, it`s 100% sure, that we can see one Esiliiga B (3rd tier) team in Cup final or even in Europe league!

I start from beginning. In autumm dropped out from cup almost all Premium liiga top teams (Flora, Sillamäe, Kalju, Trans, Paide). Only three Premium liiga clubs stayed in competition (Levadia, Infonet, Jõhvi Lokomotiiv+Puuma and Kuressaare from Esiliiga A and Tartu Santos and Emmaste from Esiliiga B)
Levadia got thanks to Tammeka II withdrawal directly to semi finals, where they play with Infonet (who beat Puuma 2:0).

But much cooler is other semi final Emmaste vs Santos. Both belong to Esiliiga B (3rd tier). Emmaste suprised Jõhvi Lokomotiiv 1:0 and Santos beat Kuressaare 2:0.
But when to be honest, Santos win isn`t very big suprise. Their team consists of former Tammeka players (they have even two proffesional foreigners from Ukraine! ) and they knocked out earlier example Narva Trans (with penalties) and smashed Esiliiga A team Kiviõli Irbis 11:0!.
If anything is going well, then in 2016 we can see Tartu derby in Premium liiga. At moment, we can say that Esiliiga B team is stronger than several Premium liiga teams

And for summary - In Estonia cup final 17th may at A Le Coq Arena will explain winner third league club and top league club!

Btw another soap opera is going with 4th Europe place aftet Levadia, Kalju and Sillamäe. Thanks to Emmaste victory against Jõhvi, got another chance to get in Europe league Flora! (who had to settle with 4th place in league and knocked out from Cup by Levadia).

NOTE: Emmaste is only team, who can`t apply for Europe license, so they are out from Europe place competition

Here is 3 different scenarios, how there´s explained Europe league team
1)To the Europe league will get Santos - They just have to beat Emmaste in semi final and if Levadia wins Infonet, they are in Europe! (ofcourse, when they get that license, what isn`t 100% sure)
2) Infonet - For them, the draw was real disaster. They have to 100% win the cup, if they want to get Europe league.
3)Flora - Just must hope for Levadia vs Emmaste final in Cup, and then are Flora (again) in Europe

And another, and maybe even most weird fact. FC Flora coach duo Norbert Hurt and Jürgen Henn, can help Flora to get to Europe.... playing for Emmaste! That`s right. They are playing both for Emmaste in amateur level and must help Emmaste win Santos.
But I personally dream ofcourse to see Santos in Europe

Anyway, totally worth of Evald Tipner`s cup name

Hopefully, you got the point.+ SORRY for my english

cool, i haven't been paying a lot of attention on this. but lets hope Santos makes it to the EL.

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? And….it’s the football, that’s the football, something happened. Everything is something happened. - Fatih Terim

So Levadia have beaten Infonet 1-0, which means Santos is in Europe if they beat Emnaste, if I'm right?

Do you have some more info about this club? First, Santos doesn't sound Estonian, where does their name come from? Also, why did all Tammeka players join Santos?

For which reason is that?

For which reason is that?
Well, I don`t any idea about the name. Probably there is no any special narrative behind it
Club is founded in 2005 and played many years in lower leagues.
They are more known for their youth teams
Just like in others Meistriliiga clubs, lot of players quit from top football (usually amateur players due to lack of time and small wages) at the age of 26-27 and continue playing in lower leagues. For Tammeka players were perfect choice to continue playing in Santos. And so they builded up the team, brought some foreigners from Ukraine and some weeks ago came real shock news, that they hired former Lithuania NT team coach.
Also just like Tammeka, their attendance numbers are prettt high in Esiliiga B.

I very hope, that we can see Tartu derby in Meistriliiga 2016 season

There are many reasons. No youth teams, club structure isn`t the "right one" and etc.

Tomorrow is Emmaste vs Santos and I`ll post live stream link here .
Final will be played in 17th may at A Le Coq Arena

Regarding the name, I guess they just wanted to get some of the reflected glory of that historical Pele's team.

There's a former Meistriliiga team called Ajax too.

The Estonian Santos started off as a youth training team btw and that's still their main purpose...

And they already in front! Scorer Mikk Laas got example in 2012 Meistriliiga goal of the year award playing for Tammeka!

Anyway, 3rd tier club is on their way to Europe league...
